Has there ever been a 2 seed with 8 losses? Bet KU will be one, if not the first.

I think Tubby's team that ended up losing to USC in the tournament had about that if not more.

Yeah, OTS' 2000-01 team got a 2 seed with 9 losses after winning the SEC Tournament.

Yeah, fans should really know their own team's history before trying to start a diss thread on a rival school doing something.

UK started off really poorly that year, something like 4-4 or whatever, and then did really well overall in the SEC, crushed Ole Miss in the SEC Tourney final that season, then struggled with 15 seeded Holy Cross, beat 7 seed Iowa, and then choked to 6 seed USC...ruining a chance to lose to Duke in the Elite 8.

I wasn't dissing KU. Read the statement. I asked had there been one, and if not, that I thought KU would be the first.

They are the only blueblood west of the Mississippi river so they get in by default.

The committee is in love with computer rankings and statistics. If you believe those, Kansas is a 2 seed. Hell, some would rank them as a 1.

Barring a major catastrophe, they were going to be a high seed this year before even playing a game. RPI, SOS, BPI blah blah blah...

I didn't have to go back too far to find out...2014 we had a 9 loss Kansas and an 8 loss Michigan team as #2 seeds.

Notre Dame has a non conf SOS of 318 and only 6 top 50 wins compared to 12 top 50 wins of Kansas.

Iowa State has 13 top 50 wins and beat Kansas twice but they also have 2 sub 100 losses and a 2nd place finish in conf behind Kansas with a true round robin schedule.

Notre Dame won't get a sniff at a #2 if they don't beat UNC. Right now they're behind. I'd like to see it happen, though.

We've all just been guessing. It's been fun though. Nothing wrong with expressing and seeing different thoughts. Here's mine. ND is now a 2 with KU and Maryland having lost, and they having won the ACC tournament. Of course one of my many thoughts has also been the committee often ignores conference tournament results lol. Who knows, maybe UVa is still a 1, etc. About all I'd bet on though I'm not a gambler, with money anyway, is UK is a 1 in Cleveland, and Villanova is a 1.Thank goodness the waiting will all be over this time tomorrow. I don't care who our Cat's have to face. They are up to the task, and if they fail it's still been a wonderful year. Let's just do this thing already!

Considering who they beat, and one of the factors in the selection process being how you've played down the stretch, I agree.
