remember last year, when the Harrisons and them came in, they were being billed as the greatest recruiting class of all time. lots of comparisons to the Fab 5 from Michigan.

and then, for whatever reason, things happened.
but we got to the championship game.

but here's the thing. last year, our guys matched the Fab 5. same number of losses, finished in the same spot at the end of the year.

and then this year, those guys have taken it to a whole 'nother level. on the precipice of undefeated.

Fab 5 never did that.
so what say you?

knowing now what you know... have these guys, the Twins and Lee and Johnson, etc surpassed the Fab 5?
i say yes. and if they get the championship, i don't think it can be argued. so lets not let that get lost in all the other Undefeated hype and hyperbole. that class last year and what it yielded is phenominal.

Classes are defined by results. If UK wins it all this year...

Last year's class, despite not being "as great as billed", will include the Twins, Dakari, Lee, Willis and Hawkins. Those guys will have 2 Final Fours and a title in their 2 years.

The 2010 class that included Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb did the same thing, and the 2011 class of Davis, MKG, Teague and Wiltjer produced one of the best UK teams ever.

This year's class is working on an unbeaten season.

While they didn't produce on the court, the 2009 class arguably (and Cal said it at the time) led to all of the following classes and a big reason as to why UK has built themselves to where they are now.

funnily enough, after losing Randle…the top rated guy in that class.

I don't know that history will view it this way, because we lost two people in that recruiting class. So now they are no longer the same "unit." But give me this team over the Fab 5 any day. Hell, give me this team over any other team except maybe the '96 and '12 Cats. Has taken them a bit longer to develop, but the expectations and hype were so high when they came in that it would have been almost impossible to meet them. So far, this year they've met those expectations and then some.

Yes it was, and it's the recruiting class that the Harrisons, Dakari, and Lee were in. This year's freshmen were the 2013-2014 recruiting class.
