I watched a little of that game the other day. Seemed like so long ago.

In a weird way, that team actually looked better in that game than I had them in my mind. If Nerlens doesn't get hurt..they may have made a decent to good run.

My best guess is Sweet 16 type run tops for that bunch healthy, but clearly by the end of the year they had some major chemistry/mental issues.

The losses to Vandy and to that HS team in the NIT showed that. I still don't get why we allowed the cupcake to get the home game...surely we could have found a HS gym in Lexington to have the game at.

Yeah, S16 is decent to good to me.

I still think Cal just wanted to prove a point and knew we would lose that game..or he just didn't give a sh*t either way. I figure otherwise we could have worked something out with EKU..georgetown college..the Frankfort Civic Center..anybody.

I watched, as well.

-Nerlens Noel was an absolute monster. Unfortunate that he was part of the season that most fans wish never happened. His stat line was great across the board in the TAMU game ... in the first 2-3 minutes of the game, for example, he had 2 rebs, 2 blks, 1 stl and a monster dunk.

-Noel dunked every chance he got, and that's what many bigs fail to do. It's a mindset. No reason, for instance, that WCS should ever lay the ball in. He can dunk anything close to the rim w/ minimal effort.

-Harrow was playing decent ball at that point in the season - averaging 16 ppg over a 6-game stretch. But down the stretch in this game he showed why he just couldn't handle the PG duties for Calipari.

-Elston Turner put on a show for the ages. He was hitting fade-away, off-balance, highly contested 3's from 27+ feet. NOTHING you can do about that.

-Cauley Stein was such a non-factor for someone on the floor for extended minutes. Having to play both WCS and Nerlens together is why the offense was a disaster.

I turned this on the other night when they were showing it. As soon as I did, Archie drove head first in to two defenders and threw a shot up that bounced off the top of the backboard. I started having painful flashbacks.

Nerlens had a game for the ages too

15pts
11rbs
7blcks
6 assist
4 steals

no player had put up that combinatino of numbers in 20+ seasons or somewhere in that range.
