2014 Pan Am Games

The 2014 Pan Am wrestling championships are July 15th-July 17th and the freestyle starts at 10am on Thursday July 17th at 10am and the finals are 6pm. Again I do not know the time zone. The United States team is as follows:

Just a minor tweak ... the Pan Am GAMES are an Olympic-style event in the year prior to the Olympics. "Games" meaning the event encompasses many different sports. This is the Pan Am Championships, which are held every year (except in Games years). Oddly, the Championships this year are part of a festival of sorts.

I know this is nothing to go nuts over, but just getting the right terminology out there. the GAMES are a bigger deal than the annual championships in the eyes of the Pan American countries.

U.S. Team puts five in the Gold Medal matches at the Pan Am Championships out of the 8 weights wrestled. The other three U.S. wrestles will be wrestling for the Bronze medal.

57 KG Zach Sanders two tech falls and an 11-6 win to get to the finals against Alfredo Cisnero of Cuba.
61kg Andrfew Hochstresser wins of 10-0 and 21-10 put him in the finals against Michael Asseline of Canada.
65kg Frank Molinaro won 11-5, lost to Valdes of Cuba 0-10 and won by 10-0 tf to gain the Gold Medal match against Herera of Peru.
70kg Hunter Stieber two 10-0 wins puts him in the gold medal match against Pedro Soto of Puerto Rico.
74kg Jordan Burroughs had three 10-0 tech falls to gain the finals and will wrestle Livan Lopez of Cuba. Lopez is the 2013 world silver medalist and the 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist.
86kg Clayton Foster wins by fall and 10-0 tf before losing to Jose Diaz of Venezuela 8-6 and will wrestle Adrian Antoine Jaoude of Brazil in the bronze medal match.
97kg Deron Winn lost to Javiwer Cortina of Cuba by tf 0-11 and is in the bronze medal match against Ali Al-rekabi of Canada.
125kg Zack Rey had two tech fallzs and a 5-1 win to be in the finals against Encarnacion of Dominican Republic.

U.S. wins 5 Gold medals and three bronze medals as they sweep the medal round. Jordan Burroughs dec. Lopez of Cuba 13-2 at 74kg. Sanders wins 3-2 for Gold. Hochstrasser has fall for Gold,Molinaro has fall for Bronze, Clayton Foster has a 10-0tf for Bronze, Deron Winn wins Bronze 8-5 and Zach Rey has a 10-0tf forGold at 125kg.
