Per interview on Flo on the Oklahoma bus going to Fargo with Gfeller, Lewallen,Brock and Fix, Daton Fix is a late entrant to the tournament at 120. Among other things discussed was that they believe they can win 3 championships back to back from 120-132 with Fix,Gfeller and Brock. They believe they have the strongest team in years and will win the freestyle. Got to love the confidence.

I agree, I think Boo will be in the finals. It will be interesting to see Moran at this weight. I think it has been a while.
I also concur that Boo has a strong chance to win a championship. He has been looking very good. Boo sounded confident during the interview and did mention one of his main challengers would be Kolodski.

Duffield announced on Flow that he has committed to Oklahoma. Apparently he has been training with Hazenwinkle and works out at Oklahoma. I do not ever see him being competitive with either Piccinini or Fix, but he loves those throws and will be a very good Greco guy and always dangerous in folk style.

First update on the Cadet Freestyle which started today. Oklahoma started with 40 wrestlers. Eighteen have suffered their second loss which leaves 22 still in the tournament. Just watched "Golowenski at 100 who may be our best chance to medal lose a 10-8 match at the very end to Michael Colaiocco of New Jersey. Heart breaking loss as Golo was ahead 6-0 after one and in control. He looked to tire in the second period and it was 8-6 Golo with only a few seconds when he gave up a takedown and back exposure to lose. He is now 1-1 and is still in the tournament. Riley Weir at 94 is 2-0, Billy Simpson at 106 is 3-0, Garrett Wild is 3-1,Roderick Mosley is 3-0 at 113, Jet Taylor is 2-0 at 120, Jack Karstetter is 3-1 at 126, Jaxen Gillmore is 3-0at 138, Jaryn curry is 3-0 at 145, Jermaine Herring is 2-1 at 145, Caleb Wise is 3-1 at 145, Shane Flandenmeyer is 2-1 at 182, jDan Baker is 1-0 at 195 and Jake Levengood is 1-0 at 220. Nevin Henson is 1-0 at 285 and Gabe Scott is 0-1 at 220 as is Ryan Bracken at 285.

Where does the article mention a team race?
7 guys making picks at every weight. 4 of 7 don't make a "consensus"
I had read the article earlier this morning but had to pull it up again after you mentioned a team pick and said "Kaid Brock is the consensus #1 pick at 132". I didn't remember seeing that the 1st time and would not have forgotten about a consensus on Flo picking the guy that loss the last 2 matches to come out on top. Though they have done it before and were wrong. That was not the only liberal use of consensus BTW.

I stand by my statement. A definition of consensus "may be defined professionally as an acceptable resolution one that can be supported even if not the "favorite" of each individual." I did not say that the "Flo" seven were the only "Experts" picking favorites but they were the only seven picking on Flo. If you want to call it a majority that is also fine with me. As for when the article mentions a team race it is in the final paragraph UNDER Team Champs and five of the seven picked Oklahoma with the other two picking Illinois. Four of the seven Flo did indeed pick Brock over McKee or in other words more picked Brock than picked McKee to make it simple for the "City slicker". I hate to bring it up but the "city slicker" indicated that this "Cow tipper" might be "eating crow" in thinking Oklahoma is the favorite in freestyle in the recent National Junior duals. To quote, " I see them (Oklahoma) favored in only 6 of 15 weights." I am pretty sure we won nine of the fifteen weights.

Well technically nothing associated with this is a consensus. I believe PBS is confusing consensus with unanimous which isn't exactly right. Consensus is a hard word to nail down. It is generally the process of everyone agreeing to act a certain way even if some don't agree. When I read it I read consensus to mean majority, which is often the understanding.

I hate to bring it up but the "city slicker" indicated that this "Cow tipper" might be "eating crow" in thinking Oklahoma is the favorite in freestyle in the recent National Junior duals. To quote, " I see them (Oklahoma) favored in only 6 of 15 weights."
Last update of the day for Cadet Freestyle regarding the Oklahoma team. Twenty-eight of the original 40 wrestlers now have two losses and are out of the tournament leaving 12 still in the running. These four are the only undefeated Oklahoma wrestlers left.
To take this a step further, for it to be truly consensus then voters would have had to agree that after talking about who would win the ywould agree to list one winner based one everyone's vote/input.
On another note, if someone says something and I understand what they mean I am content, English is a funny, finicky language.

April, agree and my choice of words could have been better I have to admit that my reply to Papa Bear was a little snarky and brought into the conversation a past opinion of his that was not relevant to his present post. The article in Flo was only the opinion of seven people and certainly not a certain predictor of what will happen. It definitely will be a close team race and who knows maybe enough head to head matchups will knock one or the other of the teams out of contention and New Jersey will win it. That being said I agree with the "Majority" of the esteemed Flo panel.:)

Majority does not equate to consensus but I will bow out of that argument.
I didn't see the team picks when I first read the article but I did see it there after your initial post about it and I neglected to mention it in my post.
I was not looking for you to eat crow and this had nothing to do with the discussion on junior duals. I did say it was likely not all matches would follow the script. While we're on definitions and semantics, being favored going into a contest is not the same as winning. My dispute of your claim of favored is not nullified by results. Dake/Taylor will not be favored going into the next match against JB, even if they win it.
