No real rules except I look for smaller level schools 4A and below to make our Adopted Team of the Year.....

Also it's a big time bonus if they happen to play either on a Saturday but not required.. Post some worthy schools here

I say we adopt Reed Custer. That poor team has had nothing but bad luck for the past few years and could use a few new fans pulling for them.

Unity Rockets, (Tolono). Class 3A school located 15 miles south of Champaign. They play 3 Saturday games this year. September 17th at Monticello (7:30), September 24th vs Red Hill (2:00) and October 15th vs St. Joseph-Ogden (7:00).

They have an open date per the IHSA website week 1. They are up to about 15 or so kids. Its only June still so I'd expect more to come out as we get closer to school. I think they will field a team, but probably only a Varsity.

How about Leo? Here's a school with an actual enrollment of 115 young men from Chicago. On the Lions' schedule this year are three defending state champions (Loyola, Naz and Bishop Mac). Other tough games for them will be St. Laurence, Fenwick and Ottawa. Leo will not play any schools with enrollments smaller than theirs this season.

Talk about an underdog!

That's just so very unfortunate. How many have transferred?

So I hear that the Guerin Adminstration is refusing to sign concurrence forms to allow the kids to transfer. If this is true the adults in the equation should be ashamed of themselves!

I've heard of a few, not a mass exodus like some stated, but last season's QB is gone.

I remember they were going to build Leo a new school in Orland Park.I also have heard rumors of Leo taking over Lincoln Way North

What about Michele Clark? Went 6-3 last year and made state Playoffs for second time in school history. Should be better this year.

I was the JV coach at Guerin 3 years ago and my DC was a coach or the HC at Clark prior to that. Great guy!

They don't play on Saturdays but I think Lisle is a team to watch out for. I think they have a chance to knock off Wilmington and their 2,763 game win streak in the I8 Small. Plus I think the McGrath kid that plays QB/RB/WR/S/CB/LB is the best all around player in both I8 divisions

Didn't Michele Clark prosecute OJ? And now she's playing football! Impressive!

Guerin,

So the school actually put families in the position to have to move out of state to continue their education if they wanted to play football as seniors with the collapse of the program...that is so sad that they wouldn't sign concurrences and allow the kids to leave. Really feel bad for the kids, this isn't a transfer of convenience but rather safety. Just sad that adults have to act this way and not do the honorable thing.

Out of respect for the family as well as myself still having a connection with the school I can't comment on the situation.

I wish nothing but the best for the said player that left Illinois. From what I've seen and heard he's doing well! His new team started off the year with a win!
