How much worse would it have been. We probably would’ve just hired Muschamp. Nobody wouldve blamed Kirby for going to UGA, his Alma mater, before he coached a game here. Would it have been embarrassing? Maybe. But are we really trying to make the Muschamp era not rock bottom? I remember the LSU game where TJ Finley looked like a future 1st round pick. See how bad he was this year for Auburn? I remember us not covering the best WR in the league last season against Ole Miss. I’m not saying we gave up a big day…I’m talking about the best player on the field and nobody within 30 yards of him…from a defensive minded coach.

Why reach guys? The Muschamp hire was a disaster. We could’ve hired anybody and got, at worst, the same results. Not sure how any candidate could’ve been worse.

From the 2016 football coaching candidates that SC was considering, did Ray Tanner get the hire right? I personally believe Shawn Elliot should’ve gotten it at the time though
