Weeks 2-4 will be the make or break for the Hornets. They're not going to beat GBW. DGS & Willowbrook will be better this year and those games are always good games regardless of record. They'll beat Proviso, Leyden and Morton and lose to Hinsdale Central.

I'm predicting 5-4/6-3 for the Hornets this year with guaranteed losses to Hinsdale Central and GBW. DGS, Willowbrook and AT are all up for grabs. Mount Prospect, Proviso East, Leyden and Morton are all wins. But it's February so who the heck really knows. I know NOTHING about Mount Proscpect either.

Sounds like a Providence Marist week two match up should be a no brainer they are both open.

Why would Naz schedule Leo in the first place? And then schedule Dunbar knowing you have a guaranteed win against Leo.

This has been beaten to death on why Naz Scheduled Leo. RB backed out of their contract late in the game and Leo was one of the only options for Naz. Not sure on why they scheduled Dunbar. At the end of the day why does it matter who you play in non conference. It has little to no effect what happens in weeks 10-14. I also love all the bashing of Leo when Blue and Green teams play them but since its a cross over its ok.

Not every year is going to be run the table and crush everyone in your path. Solid non-con games help focus and show where you need to improve. It also helps recruiting.

Comparing a non-con to a crossover is apples and oranges. In crossover world you have no choice.

Playing and winning in November have far more impact in recruiting than 2 games in August

Thank you! Naz will still play a tough conference schedule and they must win 4 of them to make the playoffs.

As has been pointed out, the Leo game in Week 2 is in the second year of a 2-year contract and supposedly was a last minute replacement for RB. However, I just don't get the Dunbar game in Week 1. Naz is coming off 2 consecutive state championships and chooses to ink Dunbar, when a very winnable game is already scheduled in Week 2? If Racki has Montini's number, as has been suggested, why not schedule the game in Week 1? Racki is free to schedule as he pleases. Naz fans can argue less-than-challenging non-con games have not hurt them the last few years. However, fans on MB's are also free to express their opinions on a strong program scheduling easy wins.

Naz simply does not schedule tough games, even though their program has progressed to the point where they are more than capable of playing just about anyone.

I have no problem with Naz scheduling Leo and Dunbar. ESCC is tough enough, let those first 2 games be warm ups. They're not always going to have state championship teams and will need all the wins they can get. Eventually it will get to the point where they can't find a week 1 or week 2 opponent because teams don't want to play them, like the case for Provi and other teams.

If I'm Naz, I keep doing what I have been doing because it's worked. A win is a win and in a tough conference like the ESCC, you need all the wins you can get to make the playoffs.
