Has anyone heard of dramatic uniform changes coming next year? I was in a popular spot last night in Arizona wearing an OU sweater. After casual sports chat an unknown guy and girl asked me if I had heard about 2016 uniforms changes. They said OU is "entertaining" black helmets and jerseys with crimson pants and interlocking OU on helmets. They said they work for Nike and are home (Arizona) for the holidays.

I hope not.....but what Nike wants, Nike gets.
I would like Oklahoma to return to the basic uniforms of three years ago and leave it at that forever. Let Nebraska, Miami, Oregon, Stanford, Ok-State and others "*****" themselves out to marketing.

I agree with you 100%. Why change something that works. I don't like the alternate "bring the wood" uniforms at all. They also said that many schools are not getting as positive responses to alternate uniforms as market analyst had predicted. Over the years we have seen minimal changes and I hope it stays that way.

I despise Nike and have not bought anything Nike for over 30 years. If my vote counted I would switch to Under Armor.

Unfortunately, Bob will probably cave to incorporating black into the uniforms. It's the trend. If I had a vote schools would have to use only their official school colors and white. The schools using black and grey when neither are a school color just isn't right. I don't buy in to the recruitment storyline.

I have always been against any alternative/throwback OU uniforms. I think they all suck. Leave the gimmicks to the schools that need it. Let Oregon, Okstate, and Baylor trot out in their Guatemalan schoolbus color palette.

The ONLY alternative scheme that is cool is when Notre Dame wear the green jerseys.

As for OU, the home crimson and away white already look the best.

Keeping things the same hasn't affected Alabama much.

I guess in theory it could happen, but I really can't believe some hot recruit, when ask why he chose a certain college to play for said, "They have the coolest uniforms".

Got to throw the BS flag on that.

It could also be about money....whether OU buys all the Nike gear or its donated provided a few changes are approved would be a major factor. I think a "stand our ground" approach with Nike works best. Nike is not the only game in town now. Screw Phil Knight, Nike and the Oregon Ducks.

Just on the basis that Nike and Oregon have their collective heads up the other's butt is reason enough for me to want OU to use another provider. I'm still pissed at the Ducks anyway.

I'll cast a dissenting vote here. Recruits and players do like the alternates. While I didn't care for the bring the wood stuff I would like to see what else they can come up with. I think alternates are ok if we wear them about once each season. I don't believe they should be worn more often than that.

Well that's already happening so it isn't likely to change. Once you give your employees turkeys at Christmas, you can't quit. But black uniforms is a whole different thing.

Why do I always get the feeling that people starting these uniform threads are just trying to start a discussion on changing uniform colors and want to see black or whatever incorporated in the colors.

I have no idea, Tuloma. What would even make you think of something like that? LOL. Seriously, the OU uniforms are a historical part of us more mature (as in older) Sooner fans.

Tuloma - I started this thread based on a conversation with two people that said they were Nike employees and asked about my opinion on uniform changes at OU. If you have a feeling it is obviously in your mouth and not your brain. I have clearly stated I much prefer traditional uniforms.

I wanted the same forever myself but I have evolved some. It sure does help recruiting. Let the kids have some fun and quit letting the older generation rule everything.
