It would be remarkable if Mr. Dainja plays at NU. His grandfather was a valued friend of mine, although his memory of me may be dimmer than mine of him. Don Jackson was captain of the Wildcat basketball team and worked harder than anyone I had known to that time (early 60s) to succeed. If there’s an ounce of his Granddad in him, CC can’t go wrong adding him to the team.

Seems like an incomplete list.

Verbal commits does not list offers where the player has eliminated the school. So when a kid cuts NU from consideration they remove the kid from the offer page. Hence - shorter list. That said they have been off a few.

Dainja is in the class of '20.

A few more '19 offers left off the above list ...

Paul Mulcahy (Rutgers)
Francis Okoro (Oregon)
Tyler Wahl (Wisconsin)
Christian Koloko

It seems like a tough year so far, but we'll see how all of this shakes out. There's still time.

The latest round of offers seem to be less “stretch” recruits than the initial ones. I just hope that NU didn’t get involved too late. Big class to fill.

Right now, to me, best realistic scenario is NU gets:

LG: Maceo Austin
Wing: Brenden Tucker or Donovan Williams (late on both)
Wing: Yavuz Gultekin
Stretch 4: Zachary Freemantle
Big: Prince Gillam

Do you think we end up offering Roddy?

Koloko has not committed but Arizona seems to be all in and that's a tough one to beat. I think Mulcahy was an academic casualty. Okoro lives 20 minutes from Champaign so that's a huge loss of the Illini. He always seemed more enamored with big name programs in the process. No idea about Wahl except we offered late and Wisconsin was there from day one.

It will say a lot about where Collins thinks he’s at with some of the recent offers.

Roddy does not strike me as a player who could make as immediate of an impact as someone like Kopp. Needs to refine his skills. But he plays hard and has a bit of Sanjay to him. Given how much respect Collins had for Sanjay being a “glue guy,” maybe that’s enough to get him an offer.
