Last year we played andrews and called it a scrimmage. It was exactly like a real game.

Also
Murphy charter had a good draft this year. How many is that jv and varsity?

BK, Rville couldn't get a scrimmage this year?

You're joking right? Murphy has 2 transfers on varsity from Andrews but both sat out last year and neither one starts for Murphy and not sure they ever will. Andrews actually picked up a kid on varsity from Murphy that will be better than either and definitely would've started for Murphy in the future if he didn't move. Robbinsville has their own transfer from Andrews (who didnt sit out) and is already a starter for Robbinsville and that's in addition to the kid from Union County and whoever else you brought in.

Murphy JV lost a starting lineman to Swain and another moved back to Ohio from last year's JV team. Yeah 2 brothers moved in but they're not from the area and who knows if they will contribute.

He's just a highly jealous person. The kid you mentioned that may be on midgets or jv that's dad is working at moog. Is he going to Murphy middle this year or is he attending one of the other feeder schools in the county? Or do you know?

Im not sure, his dad just took the position at MOOG and they're moving from far away so I'm not sure if he's even enrolled anywhere yet.

So to clarify for everyone when anyone but Robbinsville gets a transfer they are a charter and drafting kids. When Robbinsville gets a transfer they are getting whats rightfully theirs.

That's not entirely accurate. They are not considered transfers if they meet any of these criteria....They either have to know someone that might have lived near Robbinsville and by near I mean anywhere in the continental US , have driven close to Robbinsville at some point in their life and by that any road that is paved counts, or be able to point to Robbinsivlle on a map (pick out the US on a globe). If any of those are met then..... "them's home grown boys just comin' home to play ball" o_O

Swaindad have you had a chance to check out Swains jv this year?

They are a young inexperienced bunch of boys so it is going to be hard to anticipate how good they can be. If they are real good they will be competitive with Murphy and Andrews this season. If not then they would finish fourth in conference. My prediction is that they finish third in conference behind Robbinsville and Murphy. If we loose to Andrews week one then fourth. We will beat Hayesville, Cherokee and Rosman. May surprise me if they can beat Murphy. Nobody will come close to Robbinsville on JV this season. I have a boy on this team so I hope they surprise me.

Does Andrews youth league dominance continue? I'm not sure. Austin Martin is a beast, he will be a load to tackle at the JV level just like Williams at Robbinsville. I think the gap closes between these teams though in the next few year to what they were use to at the youth level.

Swain has a excellent qb in Gabe Lillard. He can run and throw. Swain has another Sain at RB who is a 2x Conference champion in wrestling and Collins at RB who is quick. I am confident that we will be able to move the ball.

Murphy midgets beat Andrew's 40-16 in Andrew's the first game of the year. I think Murphy won all three games. Andrews did not have a mite team.

A kid lives in Robbinsville then moves and comes back is equal to a kid from ohio moving to Robbinsville? Ok got it.

I lived in GA from 97 to 2001 i guess im not a local either according to you.

Look man people come here to work sometimes, somebody from Robbinsville should never have ONE WORD to say about that. You should be grateful that Murphy and Cherokee County exists or a bunch of people living in Graham County wouldn't have a place to work.

My ole lady works at TEAM in Marble and she says most of the people that work there are from Robbinsville. That's not including Harrah's, MOOG, DOT, etc. where I know for a fact plenty of Robbinsville people are employed.

If it wasn't for Murphy and Cherokee County your football team wouldn't be what it is because some of those families would have to move to find work. So think about all that the next time you want to talk transfers.

Anyone go to the Murphy - Andrews JV scrimmage this evening? If so how did Murphy look? @Cold Biscuit @therealsquid @BulldogDad27-23 @GreyGod623

Hard to tell, I think both teams only played their one about 2 series. Andrews run game will be hard to stop in a real game situation. Andrews can't throw though, no pass game at all. Murphy a little better than I expected. Murphy QB has an arm. I think defenses will have to sell out on stopping Martin and force the cats to throw.

First team vs first team they looked pretty even to me. Murphy's D looks like they could be very good down the road. Pretty good size line for Murphy and athletic too. Skill players for Murphy looked good and like someone else stated QB looked good just missed the mark a few times. Had two guys open deep once but threw late and it was picked. He will get much better, he's a coaches kid and has plenty of talent. 71 on the D line looked real good. Anyone know the kid?

Hayesville JV will be better than last year, they could barely field a team last year but they have a lot of players this year, Gillis and Lundsford moving up to Varsity will hurt but they got a couple new kids and a very tall and fast basketball players that could have a lot of potential, will prob finish 5th but could finish 4th, but shouldnt get blown out of every game like last season

Yet all local media continues to report that Chad McClure coached JVs last season to a 4-2 record...

You probably should "fact check" yourself BK. That Andrews kid is living with his Mom in Andrews and she is driving him to Robbinsville everyday. Hardly "moving back home". Unfair advantage ... Lol.

What happened to high schoolers driving themselves around???

What did you think about Andrews? Still have the makings of a solid team for varsity or starting to lose pieces and just the Martin show now? How did their linemen look?

Hayesville J.V could be interesting have a solid RB that noone has seen before besides in Basketball. He's a 8th grader and looks like he could play on Varsity. So I have no clue about that Jackets. Could be 2nd, could be last depends on how they work the RB. Also has Leatherwood at TE and a solid QB

Also Panther Put the J.V only beat Rosman last year. Lost to Cherokee

My honest assessment of last night. Robbinsville is the team to beat. It is what it is. If Andrews doesn't pull players up they will be a tough out but I think Robbinsville has the LBs to stop them. As for varsity, this is just my opinion but i dont think pounding Martin will be enough to beat the big 3 on varsity. The cats will have to find a QB.

I liked what I saw from Murphy last night. Very balanced on offense. Remember, they have Johnson missing who is on varsity. Their backfield for the exception of ledford has 3 years or less experience playing. They just need time. This Murphy team will be tough at the varsity level in a few years.

That sounds good, have to be happy if the pieces are there. The puzzle will come together with time.
