Impact Player for Marian Catholic: Senior RB Tajheem Lawson. Lawson, who is verbally committed to NIU is a speedy and game changing talent who will have a chance to make some major noise for the Spartans again in 2020. Lawson is a dangerous return man on special teams as well. Also senior WR/DE Justin Stallworth is a two way multi-year starter for Marian Catholic and will be another impact player on both sides of the football in 2020.
EDGY's Quick Take on the Marian Catholic Spartans: Former Marian Catholic (5-6) standout player and now head coach Erick Middleton was able to get his old high school turned around in 2019. The Spartans made the Class 5A state playoff field fore the first time since 2010. Look for Marian Catholic to build upon it's 2019 success with a strong talent base and experience back in several key spots. The schedule also looks favorable on paper for a strong 2020 regular season run and the Spartans could make a nice early season sleeper pick.
