Please use this thread to discuss the PSU MBB 2021-22 preseason, in-season, postseason (B1Gs & NCAAs), and then offseason news about the team, former players, etc.

I'm not copying all the posts in the same thread from the former site. I'm just picking things up at this point in the season.

Tom, do you know at this point if there will be coverage of the womens' team?

Saw a report earlier this week that new transfer big man Greg Lee is in a boot.

We are in the -19 to -19.5 range tomorrow night…I had it at -18. Can’t wait to finally see what we’ve got (albeit a little short handed).

Great lineup of games tonight too, I’ve been like a kid on Christmas Eve waiting for the season to get here…hope all the work will be worth it.

The line has settled around PSU -4, which is where I have it. Good opportunity for us to see where we’re at, and pick up a likely quad 2 win.

I have not been to a PSU basketball game in the past 10 years. For the past 25 years I have gone with an old college buddy to games at WVU, always the Pitt game until conference change. This season I plan to return to PSU for a Saturday conference game. New coach does bring a renewed excitement

The more things change, the more they are the same.
An insanely bad effort.
To go from that mess Saturday to this is not a pleasant experience.

It looks like Shrews’ comments prior to the season may be profetic. will try to win gritty as opposed to pretty. Not much offense tonight and the defense, especially 3 point D, wasn’t up to the task. It may be a long season, but I really think Shrews is the right coach for Penn State.

UMass up 81-56. Trent Buttrick with 19 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, 2 blocks, for uMass.
If I am not mistaken, Trent Buttrick, THE Trent Buttrick, led UMass in Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steels, and Blocks, while leading the domination of his former team.
Has to be a big night in the Buttrick household.

Yep, and I missed assists. He had 6 assists. I'll modify my post.

There were some great games on tonight as both Rutgers and Ohio State lost close games but both looked very good. Xavier and DePaul were victorious.

Sessoms no points early now 4-4 from 3 and Lions with the lead 41-38 5 seconds left in first half. Cornell was hot from 3 earlier and was up by 10
