I don’t mind the Cabarrus option so much as long as it’s an all 4A conference. Ideally I’d like to stay where we are, but I think Iredell-Statesville is really pushing for the NPC putting the Iredell schools back together. Smh. Most people I’ve heard from firmly believe they will get their wish and some form of the 3A/4A split NPC conference will be back.

I have a feeling Gaston County might want their own conference again too.:( Split conferences should only be used when absolutely necessary.

This may be the best proposal I have seen regarding Mooresville Lake Norman and South:

Mooresville
Lake Norman
South Iredell
Hough
Hopewell
North Meck


this makes a ton of sense for various reasons. Geographically speaking, longest travel is NM to South, no bad at all. This creates a lot of non conference schedule flexibility to schedule big gate games, would allow Iredell Statesville schools to play their in county non conference schedule, you keep the big Lake Norman/Mooresville, Hough/Mooresville rivalries together and add the rivalries with South Iredell, and most importantly it isn’t a needless split conference.

I’m open with that Devil06. My thoughts was with Iredell/Cabarrus. I would love to see the competition in the Iredell/ Cabarrus 4A but I understand geographically having Iredell with the most northern part of Meck. Co schools. And it could go well that direction. I’m also against a split conference.

I actually think the competition would be better facing the northern Meck schools than it would be vs Cab Co.

In all honesty I think in the Iredell/ Cabarrus conference we could see 4 or 5 teams battle for 1st in football. Depending on what the team would have. Hickory Ridge would be a handful. Mooresville, AL Brown, LKN would definitely be some good competition. If South Iredell is having one one of their good seasons they could present a challenge. Cox Mill plays tough as well. Who knows with West Cabarrus, in a few years they could be one of the top teams in Cabarrus Co. But what I do see is a good gate with all these teams. Now having said all of that if it comes down to it I would take the conference that Bluedevil06 likes with the Iredell teams mixed with N. Meck, Hopewell, Hough. Hoping that it will be one or the other.

if we are talking about a conference with Hough Hopewell NM.... it would beus battling Hough for the conference title most Years I think. LKN would certain factor in occasionally too.

Whoa. I never knew that about the seeding. I was only 8 at the time, but whoa.

You’re right seeding did begin in 1997. How could I have forgotten that you guys would’ve come to Lawndale that year if the highest seed had hosted throughout.

Yep, the couple times we have played each other they have been some doozies.Fortunately we won them all I think LOL.

Early info coming out of Kannapolis......Kannapolis,Hickory Ridge,West Cabarrus,Cox Mill,Mallard Creek,Hough,North Meck,and Hopewell are forming a conference. This is not final,but is very much in the works.

I just don’t see NM,Hough or Hopewell go but hey never say never but for Mooreville/LN this would be a big blow bc this would mean a NPC is returning

That's what I was thinking....Mooresville/LN heading back to a 3A/4A conference again. I would rather see Cabarrus/Iredell 4A conference.

Hey K Town fans. Have y’all heard of possibly an all 4A/3A Cabarrus conference. What would be your thoughts on that or how do see something like that working out.

I would not mind it,but I doubt some of those 3A teams would go for that. I just hate these 4 Cabarrus teams are probably headed to Charlotte.

As a South Iredell fan my first pick would be an Iredell/ Cabarrus conference. I feel like that would bring some good competition. I understand that it’s going to end up being what it is.

I'm with you on the Iredell/Cabarrus conference.Just need for AD's of the seven schools to agree and let the NCHSSA know they are in favor of it.They have to fight for it together and it will happen.If you don't fight for it you just get whatever the NCHSAA gives you.

Makes sense for them but doesn’t bode well for Mooresville and South Iredell and Chambers. Why would Mallard Creek be included without Chambers?

I’m sure schools can give their input but at the end of the day - The NCHSAA has the final say in where you go for conference

I know this conference is True at the Moment but Anything can change from Now to the final realignment.

Which part?
1. When The NCHSAA Release the First Draft of the Realignment- I’m sure school can give feedback n their input

2. I have sources who HAVE confirm this conference is True n Will be on the Realignment that will be release Thursday by NCHSAA

3. The First Draft isn’t the final draft so things can change. The Process is on NCHSAA website. Won’t be final until next year
