I don't think today has been the worst-case scenario, but getting Dana through yesterday felt like there was a good chance he could come to school. Then McGeary blowing up this summer was a tough break as I don't believe he was really on the draft radar prior to his commitment to Kentucky.

Will be interesting to see if Tyler Bosma, Zack Lee or Jake Plastiak go off the board in the final few rounds. It does sound like Logan Martin will be at UK next year.

Would really like to see Bosma come back for one more healthy season. Hate losing McGeary but if they can hold onto Kendal Ewell that could really help the lineup.

The Mets really liked Chase . Had him out in California for a week going over him like a fine toothed comb.best of luck to him.

Chase has the tools. Has to show the ability to hit at the next level and if he does then he can find a home in baseball for a while, be it either at 2nd or 3rd.

That's it for this year's draft. The Wildcats had nine players/commitments drafted: Ryan Ritter (Rockies), Tommy Specht (Rangers), Tyler Guilfoil (Astros), Sean Harney (Rays), Chase Estep (Mets), Caden Dana (Angels), Cole Stupp (Tigers), Haydn McGeary (Cubs) and Daniel Harper (Phillies).

Now we see if anyone chooses to sign free agent deals. Jake Plastiak, Alonzo Rubalcaba, Kendal Ewell, Tyler Bosma, Zack Lee are all guys to watch I suppose.

Is there a stay/Go deadline date? Thank you
Pro teams must offer a contract in a very short period of time IIRC, something like a week after the draft maybe even sooner. Guess the player can go up to the start of school but it would be best for them to sign and get started ASAP. Couple of weeks should tell the tale.

It's August 1st unless that guy doesn't have college eligibility left. Those guys can sign any time up until one week prior to the next year’s draft. High school and two-year college draft picks who are selected after the 10th round who attend a two-year college after the draft are eligible to sign with their selecting teams up until a week before the next year’s draft. This is called a “draft-and-follow” pick.

Caden Dana signed with the angels today. Most ever for someone drafted after the 10th round.
