That was a strange game, PSU was lucky to get out with a win! SC was playing pretty much the whole game on PSU side and they scored (own goal) for PSU.

No. 11 Penn State will return to the friendly confines of Jeffrey Field this week, as it prepares for its final nonconference match of the season.
Big-time early season conference match against Rutgers (on BTN right now), and PSU takes the early lead at the 9 minute mark, 1-0.

PSU up 1-0 at the half against Rutgers. After the PSU goal, it's been an interesting game. PSU had a number of offensive attacks, but only a couple of them that resulted in legitimate scoring opportunities. By comparison, Rutgers had quite a few great shots on goal, most from areas that were to close to PSU's goal for comfort.

Hocking with a goal for PSU at the 54 minute mark to put PSU up 2-0. Great challenge and win by Schlegel near midfield to win the ball, and then a perfect pass by her to send Hocking in on goal.

Nice win for PSU. Last season was uncharacteristically poor for PSU, and Rutgers had a great season. Rutgers went into tonight's game having won 20 straight regular season matches (this season plus last season). The two teams were the co-favorites in the B1G preseason poll.
