SIAP, but what's up with the British chick doing the NBC studio work?? Is Beth Mowins handling studio duties for the BBC?

You obviously didn’t watch soccer on Comcast Sports Net and NBC.
The best person should do this or any joy, not get the job based on nationality, race, gender, or sex preference!

So Bob, you're saying there's a large group of American girls spanking a group of Russian girls?

I'll be right back...

Women’s Hockey: Canada 7, Finland 1, 3:25 left in the 2nd period.

A$$. BEATING. o_O

You need to market the Olympics for NBC (or whichever company is broadcasting them this year). "Women's hockey ... Canada v. Finland ... be there!" I'm not watching that nonsense. But ... "Watch Melodie beat Jenni's a$$ tonight!" Well, I'm there for that.

All I can offer is that if you are 25, go meet a female Olympic biathlon competitor. Omg. Super hot and they fire a weapon.

Fixed it for red-blooded American men everywhere.

Mikaela Shriffrin wiped out in the Giant Slalom. Disappointing. The announcers said the course is particularly challenging since it is steep and icy. Shriffin wiped out early in the run. 😕

Mikaela spent her early racing days in Vermont, so the man-made snow/ice should actually be an advantage to her over many racers. Unfortunately, though, she popped out of a turn unbalanced, lost the weight on her downhill ski, and thus leaned into the hill. That’s a guaranteed fall every time.

We deserve better.

Sucks. She'll have another chance.

I’ve never been more scared for an athlete than I was last night watching the downhill. They’re traveling close to 80mph down a 2200-ft mountain and getting airborne up to 40 yards.

Also, a nasty crash in the women’s giant slalom involving Nina O’Brien from the US. They only showed one replay and the announcers were a bit sickened. She had to be sled-stretchered off.

Watching Olympics? I almost forgot them. Did catch skating - the Russian women are in another solar system in terms of talent. I see some athletes competing for countries other than their home country. I think if cases where they didn't make their home country team seems like no big deal. When they are a medal contender and would have been their top athlete in the event, then that feels like the athlete is sticking it to their home. Most of these countries supported their athletes when they were young and developing.

American wins gold in snowboarding..

Oh wait....she won it for China, not the country she was born in. Eileen Gu. I'm confused.

WHY? It certainly isn't a gathering of competion for amateur sports individuals, it is just a group of professional athletes competing. I stoped watching NFL several decade's ago, the same with MLB and the NBA.
At one time, i loved college basketball, now, it's one and done. Crazy

Hmmm......I'm still confused. Why would she represent an oppressive regime which has a horrible human rights record?
I'm guessing they made it worth her while financially. It's China after all. The steal technology and buy athletes of Chinese descent who were trained elsewhere when they're available. Apparently Gu hit the portal.

Also consider the American born and raised Chinese figure skater. She fell a couple times and was destroyed on the Chinese version of Twitter. And BOTH her parents were Chinese immigrants. Gu has an American father which would seem to make her the preferred target in a country which values its homogeneity.

I also read China doesn't recognize dual citizenship for their people once someone is over 18 years old. Gu is currently 18. It sounds like she'll need to make a final decision soon.

The Olympics have become too political and too commercial. I haven’t watched as I’m not interested in any of the x games type skiing sports, and about the only thing I might be inclined to watch is ice hockey. The others bore me and while I enjoy Chinese food, that’s about as close to China as I want to get, assuming I have a choice while typing on my iPhone which was probably made there by a bunch of 10 year old workers in a sweat shop.

Funny how people that didn't want their sports mixed with politics during the anthem-kneel days are now so eager to mix sports and politics.
Agreed. But it's her decision. She'll have to live with the consequences later in life.
