0-13 loss for Steen into consis
TD and 2 NF for Brown in the 3rd.
Worst Steen’s looked in a while.
Very disappointing.

125 pounds: Gary Steen, PSU vs. Braxton Brown, Maryland

First period
Brown fires out of the gate and gets an immediate takedown. He then throws legs in and works for a bow and arrow. Steen is fighting off his back but he's in a bad place. Brown tilts for near fall points but Steen fends off the pinning combination. It's still four and a 6-0 lead for Brown over Steen. They go off the edge, mercifully for Steen, with 1:29 left in the period. Brown has a nice ride going off the re-start and is working for a turning combination. Brown rides out the first period. He leads 6-0.

Second period
Brown is down to start the second. Steen riding but not scoring. Then he's called for his second caution, making it 7-0. After that, Brown reverses Steen off the restart. It's now 9-0 for the Terp. That's the score after two. And, while the broadcast isn't showing it, I believe he has the riding time point already secured.

Third period
Neutral start. Brown gets a takedown about a minute in. It's 11-0. Two more nearfall points for Brown. He wins it with riding time, 14-0.

Brown md. Steen, 14-0.

Edit: I just like knowing who is coming up. I have one laptop with dual monitors, one mutli-mat and one with a tab for each individual and then my MacBook Pro for message boards and mat assignments so I would see PSU guys on the multi-mat anyway and could go from there.

I use it for the mat assignments. I believe NLWC also posts that. Then just go to the mat view on my laptop when psu is up

Steen has a bye in the consolation bracket. He'll get the loser of Spencer Lee/Jack Medley.

firefox. I went out to main page and then back to lionvision and it worked.

Edit: Just tried again and not working anymore

Getting the bad out of the way early I guess is nice. Don’t have to think about 125 until next year. Small victories.

Sadly, with PSU's track record, it is absoutley believable.

SVN gets reversed. 2-2. Now SVN is up an out with 45 seconds RT. 3-2.

SVN with a TD at the end of 1. 5-2.

Heck of a scramble by SVN. Harrier with an ESC 5-3 then in deep on a double. SVN scrambles out with a TD of his own. 7-3. Thought SVN was dead tor rights on that double.

End of second. 7-3 SVN. SVN takes bottom.

The Big Ten channel coverage is ridiculous. They had 4 boxes on at the beginning, now they don’t even have an SVN. Guess I’m going to my phone.

First period
A little hand-fighting to start. Harrier shoots first but SVN kicks away. Then that happens in reverse. No score yet. Harrier shoots in on a single and lifts SVN up, but he's fending the shot off well as the two circle in the center of the mat. Stalemate stops the action with two minutes left in the period. Now SVN drives through a double and converts it for a 2-0 lead with 1:42 left. BTN+ has finally added a riding time clock, which is a nice touch. SVN has legs in and is working on a turn on the side of Harrier, who is turtled. Harrier ends up winning a scramble and reverses SVN. It's 2-2 with 50 seconds left in the first period. SVN quickly out to 3-2. Late single by SVN finished JUST before the horn. It counts. He leads 5-2 after one.

Second period
Harrier down to start the second. Stalling on Harrier 30 seconds into the period. Then, he escapes to 5-3. And, he flies in on a shot that SVN somehow fends off and now he has Harrier's leg hiked up and drives through for another takedown. It's a 7-3 lead for the Nittany Lion with under a minute left. The second period ends with SVN up 7-3.

Third period
SVN down to start the third. He's out quickly and has 2:18 in riding time. He shoots in on a double that he converts for a takedown and 10-3 lead, and he then picks up two nearfall points on the edge to go up 12-3. Harrier is out to 12-4. SVN takedown for a 14-4 lead with 58 seconds left as they go off the edge. SVN now truing for a turning combination. Stalling HArrier. 15-4 now. Harrier is completely flattened out. SVN wins 16-4 with 3:45 in RT.

Not a lot for us to do here in the first round. I think we only have three guys wrestling. Steen, SVN and Facundo. No mat assignment for Facundo yet.

Seeding upset: No. 10 Cole Mattin just beat No. 7 Jake Olivieri. So, Mattin, from Michigan, will face Penn State's Beau Bartlett in the quarters at 141 pounds.

What the hell is going on with mat 3? Murin and Omania 2-2 in the first and there is a stoppage with Murin wearing a hoodie getting a massage from Terry Brands.
