Lilledahl and Kasak win U20 Freestyle titles

Outstanding. Thank you for the update of PSU guys. Lilledahl is special. Wish he would come early like Haines did. That year helps big time. Hope this 24 class all come early.

All these kids are special. They aren’t your average bears. Take Kasak for example. His bracket included kids already on college rosters, including Ohio State superfrosh Jesse Mendez who was an All-American this year for the Buckeyes. Kasak beat Vince Cornella the #1 seed and returning U20 World Freestyle Team member in the semifinals. Cornella was 21-6 and the EIWA Champion last year as a freshman at Cornell. After beating him, Kasak beat the #2 seed Kannon Webster (who beat Mendez in the semis) 15-7 in the finals. He also beat Pierson Manville along the way. This was not an easy bracket.

A bit of a surprise at U-17, 60 Kg:

Would not really consider Davino (Ohio State commit) beating Forrest to be a surprise at this stage of their development. Davino is very tough and obviously a bit more seasoned.

[Tom McAndrew]

Bo Bassett ended up placing 4th in the U-17 55 Kg weight class. He lost to Isaiah Cortez (Gilroy HS Wrestling) in the 3rd place match, 4-1

Webster was also the only wrestler to beat Kollin Rath in folk this year. And Kasak handled Webster in the finals.

So what is the next step for the U-20 guys that just won. Do they also have to defeat someone else to make the World team?

Anyone know where Luca Augustine is going to college? PA guy.

Anyone know where Luca Augustine is going to college? PA guy.

I'm pretty sure he is already attending Pitt. The U-20 competition (which this was) often attracts a number of wrestlers that are in college.

Edit: I was correct. He was a RS freshman this past season at Pitt.
