Must be a great feeling. I’m still hoping for the Champions League.
Little interesting Cliff Claven type of fact I saw which is good for Arsenal. Maybe United wins Europa as that is the only way we sniff European football next year.

Yes, it's true that the English soccer team has won the Champions League every time a Pope has passed away. Here's a breakdown:

  • Pope John Paul I: Died in 1978. Nottingham Forest won the European Cup in the 1978/79 season.
  • Pope John Paul II: Died in 2005. Liverpool won the Champions League in the 2004/05 season.
  • Pope Benedict XVI: Died in 2022. Manchester City won the Champions League in the 2022/23 season.
  • Pope Francis: Died in 2025. Arsenal won the Champions League in the 2024/25 season.

Yeah, Queens Park Rangers won the Champions League in 1724, the year Innocent VIII died.

This seems like the appropriate forum to vent about Peacock. Terrible for viewing live sports that already started.
If a game is underway (I started it 1.5 hrs late), I haven't found an easy way to watch from the beginning (it doesn't have a DVR). after the event is over, you can watch from their library but if the game is current, you have to start it from current time and rewind to beginning. I have to hide my eyes so I don't see a score.

I had to pause the Liverpool game at 14 min to do something. When I returned and started the tv up, it had returned to my homepage, forcing me to restart Peacock and have to rewind again! First, I caught a little glimpse of what looked like celebration, so it was kind of spoiled. When I tried to rewind to where I left off, it wouldn't allow to me to go past the 15 ish minute mark - exactly when Liverpool scored, so I missed the goal (saw the replay and VR check).

Anyone know of a work around besides getting a 3rd party DVR app?

I believe they put up the full match a couple hours after the live event. In your case you were screwed as the game was still live or had just ended. I'm not a fan of how they handle it either FWIW...but maybe I'm thinking Paramount for EUFA and EUROPA.

Agreed. It is a really clunky interface. I don’t know of a work around, but I’m all ears if someone finds one.
