Watched the UA Elite game and Edwards and Fulwiley looked good! Anyone know if SC is going after Cassandre Prosper? They mentioned her older brother plays for Clemson. Would be cool for her parents to have them at nearby schools. I doubt she wants to play for Clemson 😋😋😋

I know she has a SC offer. She is definitely on my wish list for 2024. Saw her in the under 17 game when Canada played the USA.

Missed the transfer news out of UF. Aliyah Matharu, The leading scorer for Texas has transferred to Florida.
This really hurts Texas and helps UF. UF becomes a definte tourney team and a borderline top 25-30 team

A couple of players we're recruiting were named ALL World in 17 and under basketball...JuJu Watkins was the MVP....Jaloni Cambridge made the top 5...

I think I've seen it mentioned that Cassandre Prosper from Canada is being recruited as well...

There are 8 girls in the top 17 who have not committed. We have made the final group for 6 of them

Ok I know that we are in final group for Del Rosario, Fuwiley, Kitts and Booker. Who are the other 2?

Was rooting around in archives did you know we are 18-4 against Louisville all time?

Was also wondering about possible opponents. Almost all ACC schools are fully booked except UVA, Va Tech, FSU and L’ville... all would be a great addition to the schedule even UVA who is awful but would generate a story line of champ vs her Alma Mater.

Last year we had 8 games against power 5 teams and 2 games against non power 5 schools that made the tourney. The only true cupcakes were Elon and NC A&T OH and the taters.

Right now we have 6 games booked, 5 power 5 and 4 top 25 games, plus top 25 S Dak. Also the big 12 challenge game which should be a quality matchup. That leaves 6 games. Need some talented opponents and home games. Hopefully 2-3 power 5 games and quality mid majors.

Do you have a good feel about any of these?
i think Fulwiley is a lock but I’m just an old fan boy.

I also have a good feeling about Watkins. Stanford already has commitments from 3 guards. AND she is represented by Jade Li English of Klutch.

Others are I don’t know but my vibe is not good on Booker and is good on Kitts but again what the hell do i know

Added thought..... if no one takes a Covid year we will only have 6 players on the roster. That means we really need to bring at least 5 and up to 7. Not all freshmen but JUCO and portal.

First nomination for most embarrassing OOC Schedule in SEC WBB

LSU

8 home games
1 away game vs Tulane in New Orleans
4 neutral site

Teams that made last year’s NCAA Tourney
ZERO, NIL, NADA, NOBODY, NO ONE, ZILCH, 0️⃣
Power 5 teams ...... ONE 17-14 Oregon St

This is a top 15 team, just shameful. TILLMAN TECH, the worst team on our schedule would go either 12-1 or 13-0 against their slate. Pitiful.

More times than not in the past this is the way Kim schedules....alot of those strong Baylor teams played some weak schedules.

I get what you are saying about her BUT SERIOUSLY this is a pathetic excuse of a schedule

Bellmarine 4-24
W Carolina 7-23
New Orleans 5-18
Miss Valley St 4-22

The two teams with the BEST RECORDS on their schedule

Tulane 21-10 actually a decent team that schedules up and made the 2nd round of NIT. This is the best team on their schedule!!!

Houston Baptist 16-11

That's what Mulkey does, she sets her team up with these cupcake schedules and they underperform in the big tournament. There's a reason why, that despite her long tenure at Baylor she's only been to 4 final four despite usually having one of the most talented teams in the country.

Only 4 final fours?? Wow!! With her record and talent I am surprised. DS has 4 final fours in
8 years and it would have been 5 with Covid.

I did not realize she was dodge competition in OOC type.

For as different as Geno and DS are.... they NEVER dodge competition. IOWA, NCSU and UNC dodging us this season was an eye opener for me.

UNC is playing Oregon, Iowa st, Michigan, and Indiana
NCSU Is playing UConn, UGA, USF, Iowa, and WVU
IOWA is playing NCSU, Iowa St, UCONN, Oregon st and Kansas st

Those are pretty serious schedules BUT they went screaming in the night when we offered home and homes. Says a lot about how they view our talent

You have to play the best to beat the best to become the best. Competition makes you better - win or lose. Avoiding competition makes you weak.

I feel like for the most part she was able to get away with it because they would play other top teams only if they met in a holiday tournament or something like the BIG 12/SEC challenge. But overall they were guaranteed to make the tournament because their conference wasn't very competitive and we're able to out talent their opponents.

I think something is going to have to give because the SEC is a different beast and it looking to only get tougher with the addition of Texas and some of the new coaches have some potential as well. She'll had to change course or she and her team will get left behind.

Toughest OOC In SEC right now....
Has to be the Vols
UCONN
Ohio St
Indiana
Stanford
Va Tech
UCF
AND if things go to form in the battle for ATLANTIS
Louisville, Texas and another quality opponent
We could match or exceed when ours is announced. Make no mistake UT will be a very talented and battle tested team when we play at K’ville in late Feb

last year LSU’s OOC SOS was 151(only Bama 173, OM 191 and Auburn 219 were lower) and they had 4 games against top 50 rpi. This year using last years SOS no games against top 50 and TEN GAMES against teams who’s RPI is 212 or lower including 5 with an RPI of 325 or lower. There are only 356 teams

Not sure we even offered but Jadyn Donovan (hoopgurlz #3) is committing on 8/22/22. Most think it will be ND.

Couldn’t find a list but UMD, Louisville, FSU, UK, ND, UNC and Tenn offered and seemed to be very involved.

Donovan attends Sidwell Friends which is an absolute talent factory that we need to get entree

I know it’s football season....... but enjoy anyway

I’ll be the first to say it.......
The UCONN dynasty is dead.

There I said it! Lightening didn’t strike me, though if the Boneyard had my address, I would expect pitchforks and torches.

By dead I don’t mean they stink. I am pretty positive they will be in Dallas at the final four and they will be in the top 5 for the next 5ish years at least

But they don’t terrify top 10 teams any more. It’s been 7 years since they won a national title. They lost to an unranked team last year for the first time in a 1,000 years.

They still have great talent, are excellently coached, run a precision offense and are probably the top conditioned team in WBB. But they A’INT UCONN.

I’d like to say Dawn Staley killed them, she didn’t, BUT, well she hacked off a limb and put blood in the water.
It’s about more than just another dynasty rising up. WBB has simply out grown a dynasty of UCONN’s proportions.

The talent pool is much deeper and broader, players and coaches. Gone are the days when Geno signs the best player at three different positions every year. There is still generational talent but there is more of it to go around. In addition players #20 - #80 are really close in talent.

The talent at UCONN is excellent BUT when ESPN puts out their top 25 player list there won’t be a UCONN player on the list. Well maybe Azzi Fudd but that’s based on projection not production. Last year they had 4 or 5 on that list.

Conference affiliation is also nipping at their heels. Yes they moved up last year but it’s still not a great conference. UCONN has to play a monster OOC because of the weak conference. Kids don’t want to play half a season that doesn’t matter.

Throw in the fact that Geno is 68, Tara is 69. Dawn, Jeff Walz at L’ville and Brenda Frese at Maryland are all almost 20 years younger. Then there is Courtney Banghart at UNC, Kara Lawson at Duke, Niele Ivy at ND and Adia Barnes at Arizona Who are establishing perennial powerhouses and are in their early 40s.
Add Mulkey and Wes Moore and that’s 10 programs that expect to compete or beat UCONN.

I’m not putting them in the grave, I’m just looking down an inevitable road
