Alright, a little more than a week out - let's see your big predictions this year's team so we can see how close you are. Here's mine:

125: Spratley: 4th Place
133: Witcraft: NCAA Qualifier, Hughes: Blood Round (If he makes 33)
141: Jamison: Blood Round
149: Carter Young: Blood round
157: Travis: Blood Round
165: Amine: 4th
174: Hamiti: 3rd
184: Plott: 4th
197: Surber: 7th. Merrill Redshirts. If Merril ends up starting: 5th.
HWT: Hendrickson: 2nd, leads country in falls.

We win Big 12. Finish 5th at Nationals

6 AA with 3 in the blood round would be better than 5th I think

I thought in May/June that OSU would be neck and neck with Iowa this year, but then Iowa bought a new team (small hyperbole vhsalum). Now, I believe OSU ends up at 85 and Iowa around 115-120. As always it depends somewhat on seeding at nationals. You have a higher chance of getting 3rd from the semis than the round of 12. The point of the wrestling season in large part is to get guys into the right seeding so that there are more paths to a higher podium placement. Less wrestling. Better nutrition. Better S&C. Peaking toward March.

I practically said on day one on this forum that OSU would be vying for 2nd this year, and likely getting second consistently in 2-3 years, but it will probably take a solid 5 years to compete against the pipeline already established at PSU. I can see it becoming a tossup fight at the top by 2028 if things break right. I know it's tough to wait for a full cycle to realize goals but it will produce a better foundation for success. Just look at Michigan and Iowa. I don't believe they are building the proper foundation for long term success and within this next cycle we will see it effect their podium position.

Controversial.šŸ˜‰ 84 is brutal this year, but I believe Plot at least is in the finals.
97 is a bit weak this year and I see Surber going a bit higher. I think people are a bit rough on Surber. I really see him doing well (or injuring out). Itā€™s all or nothing for that young man.

He has the talent to be higher but I have questions on health for the entire year. Last years injuries were brutal. Funny story he was with a friend of mine during the early season last year and he called me and teased me about my prediction he wouldnā€™t AA and I said he wasnā€™t ā€œEliteā€ on a message board or something: Might been before his injury at CKLV anyway, he was a good sport and seems like a cool guy. I hope he is healthy and kicks *** and is on the podium just to be clear
