I'm setting this up two days before, so that everyone knows the plans, has the links, etc.

Please use the thread for all pre-session, in-session, and post-session discussion for the 2024 B1G Wrestling Tournament.

When:
March 10, 4:30 pm EDT

Where:
Xfinity Center, College Park, MD

TV:
BTN -- they'll be showing the Championship matches. If one finishes early, they may provide some coverage of the 3rd & 5th place matches, but that's hard to predict in advance. Want to stream it? Fubo's spring offer just kicked off - For a limited time, new subscribers can save $20 on their first month of Fubo's Pro, Elite, and Premier plans. They all include BTN. Click here to learn more and sign up today!

Video Streaming:
For subscribers, you can stream it via B1G+. They'll be covering the 3rd & 5th place matches

Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-Session portion of the broadcast will begin at 4:10 pm EDT, with the actual PBP of the matches taking place at 4:30 pm EDT. You can access the audio stream at:

Team Scoring:
The best place to track the team scoring is the Penn State Wrestling Club web site. The link for the team scoring is:

https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org

PBP:
I plan to be watching the action, and will provide PBP. @GregPickel will also be providing coverage. Hopefully, several of you will also step forward and provide some analysis, or some comments on each match. As always, I remind you to please include the score for the match in your posts, or provide some context (wrestler, school, and weight class) beyond just "that's not a takedown." It also helps to give folks a heads up as to what mat a PSU wrestler will be wrestling on. You can usually get that info from Ironhead's audio PBP, from Penn State Wrestling's twitter account, or from TrackWrestling.

Just got wings for the IV session.

I hope we wear different singlets like all the other BT teams who change for every session.

Our singlets are different......they say Penn State.

Let's Rock!

125: #6 Braeden Davis vs. #4 Patrick McKee (Minny) -- I'll use PM

true freshman vs. a 6th-year senior

Per 1
Stalemate with 2:32 left. PM working underhooks. Davis reaches, nothing. No real shots thru 1:30. Davis shoots, nothing. Stoppage with 1:16 left as PM's headgear came off. PM trying to muscle Davis, but that doesn't work. Stalemate with 58 sec left. Davis reaches, nothing. 30 sec left. PM reaches, nothing. End

Per 2
PM takes bottom. PM works up from his base, down, then back up again. PM sits out, to his feet, lifted and returned. PM with another stout. Davis tilts him and gets 3 NF, 3-0. OOB with 46 sec left. PM to his feet and hits a switch for the esc, 3-1. End. RT @ 1:19 for Davis

Per 3
Davis takes bottom. PM can be tough on top. Davis works up, then sits out and gets the esc, 4-1. RT is 1:09 for Davis. Davis Shoots, PM tries to counter, and a stalemate with 1:17 left. Davis with a double but his head is stuffed. They scramble, and a stalemate with 43 sec. Crowd doesn't like it but the call was good. PM sort of shots, nothing. 30 sec left. PM tries a trip, McKee lands on top, they scramble, and Davis with the TD with 1 sec left, 7-1. With 1:09 in RT, it's a 8-1 DEC!!!!

I took it as McKee gave up on the match with 3 seconds left (don't do that), Davis didn't and picked him up and threw him down for the TD. McKee conceded and Davis wrestled through whistle. No big deal throwing the straps

133: #5 Aaron Nagao vs. #4 Jacob Van Dee (Neb.) in the 3rd place match -- I'll use JVB

Per 1
Nagao reaches, nothing. JVB shoots and Nagao sprawls, nothing. Nagao gets a low single, they scramble, but Nagao gets the TD, 3-0. Nagao throws in boots, and has JVB extended. Nagao tilts him, and is in good position, and he gets the PIN @ 1:51!!!!!!
