To clarify, van Ness is taking a medical redshirt due to a season-ending injury he sustained back in October. He already used his regular red shirt. No inside info, but I suspect Kasak will RS next season when van Ness is healthy.
Who knows. If so then you have Jamison and possibly Carter Young on the bench. Too bad we can’t make trades
If Hughes can't go 133 effectively then 133 is another hole in the lineup in addition to 165 and 174. That is a problem. We would have 4 talented guys, Hughes, Jamison, Young, Williams all at 2 weights, 141 or 149. And nobody at 3 weights 133, 165, 174.
Incoming true freshman Sakamoto, who has never wrestled folkstyle, should redshirt next year.
How big is Hughes?
We should see these guys this summer some and will be able to guess weights better. Until then, not sure someone with a redshirt has had a reason to show what their weight will be.
If we cut Thompson loose it would free up a lot of money from what I’ve heard. Hopefully we can at least get a discount now on him.
Missing on Thompson would be a huge loss. He was an elite recruit.

The stall call on that no TD changed the match. Refs took it over.
Fine. The stall call was BS. But you can't have ZERO offense and expect to win. I love Daton, but that's the truth.
John has failed Fix. Zero development fix wins zero national titles as a college OSU wrestler. Embarrassing
As much as I love Fix I agree this is on him. He barely took any shots the entire night
This….how many takedowns did Fix have in his final three matches ? Zero ? Seems like his style has regressed from a few years ago
What a tool to use against OSU in recruiting. John couldn’t coach Fix to a single title
Refs took the match. Changed the entire complexity of the match after the first stall warning. Vito was stalling just as much but knew he could push it after the 2nd stall warning that should not have been f'n called on the non TD.
Fix played defense, Vito was the aggressor…the aggressor won.
Daton went to 4 finals and never got a single takedown.
That’s 100% of the problem. It’s not about being slow or cautious, but eventually you’re gonna have to go. And if after 6 years at OK State, that’s the best offense that John was able to get out of Fix (this whole tourney, really), that’s a shame.
