It doesn't look like he will ever be wrestling for Iowa.any update on alvarez?
Makes sense. But he wasn’t penciled in many lineups posted here, was he?It doesn't look like he will ever be wrestling for Iowa.
Iowa wrestling: Sammy Alvarez will not compete for Hawkeyes in 2025-26
Naw. The people who knew, knew there was no way he was getting another year. Not sure why Alvarez even tried tbh.Makes sense. But he wasn’t penciled in many lineups posted here, was he?
Divide and conquer right? So you’re okay with using a pejorative term used to denigrate people with cognitive challenges? Got it. Perhaps you’re also cool with pejorative terms for blacks, asians, hispanics, and jews.
For your sake I hope you're a stroke survivor or something similar. If not:Divide and conquer right?
Man you are one twisted phuck.
Well, let’s see. My post calling out your derogatory term for a group unfortunately ill equipped to push back received 7 likes and a laugh (whatever that means). Your post objecting to my call out received 1 “wow,” so there’s that.Divide and conquer right?
Man you are one twisted phuck.
What’s full feed for Ryder? He’s so long - seems like the frame of a 57 without the bulk.Do you know how Ryder is recovering? I feel like a healthy Ryder at full feed would be problems!
Is WHITE a pejorative term?So you’re okay with using a pejorative term used to denigrate people with cognitive challenges? Got it. Perhaps you’re also cool with pejorative terms for blacks, asians, hispanics, and jews.
I don’t think you understand what was initially written. Try again. Is WHITE a pejorative term?
Just wanting to be up to speed.
Ok mom. I get itI don’t think you understand what was initially written. Try again.
Crazy not to see the usual Pedo guys that have been there for what seems like a decade. AJ ranked #2 at HWT??? That will be interesting. PK at #2 kind of shocks me also, but he did very well last season and hope he keeps improving. And according to their tourney prediction, we finish fourth 45 points behind 1st placeIntermat rankings came out today, they have VV (27) at 149 and Williams (12) at 157
Not out of the realm of possibility.Iowa is going to have a really good team. PSU is going to have an All Star team. In many past seasons, this type of Iowa team would definitely be a Team Title contender, if not an outright favorite. However, PSU is simply doing things that have never been done before.....
---------Iowa-----------------------------------------------------PSU
125: Peterson transfer 2x R12 with a win over Lilledahl-----Lilledahl #1lb4lb recruit '24 and took 3rd as a freshman
133: Ayala #5 lb4lb '21 2x Finalist----------------------------Blaze #1lb4lb recruit '25 , Nagao transfer 1x 5th
141: Bailey transfer 1x 4th place------------------------------Davis #42 lb4lb '23 1x 5th
149: Voinovich transfer 1x R16-------------------------------Van Ness #4 lb4lb '21 2x 3rd
157: WIlliams transfer R12------------------------------------Kasak #10 lb4lb '23 2x 3rd
165: Caliendo transfer 7th, 4th, 2nd--------------------------Mesenbrink transfer 2nd, 1st
174: Kennedy #6 lb4lb '20 1x 4th-----------------------------Haines #9 lb4lb '22 2nd, 1st, 3rd
184: Ferrari #2 lb4lb '24---------------------------------------Welsh transfer 1x Finalist
197: Endene transfer 3x Champ DIII--------------------------Barr #7 lb4lb '23 1x Finalist
285: Kueter #2 lb4lb '23 1x 8th-------------------------------Mirasola #15 lb4lb
The Iowa lineup will have 4 top 6 lb4lb recruits. The other 6 are transfers, with 2 having placed top 4(Caliendo, Bailey), 2 R12(Peterson, Williams) 1 R16(Voinovich and a 3x DII Champ(Endene).
Meanwhile, PSU will start 8 top 10 lb4lb recruits, with another at 15 and the last being 42. Of those they return 2 former Champs(Mesenbrink, Haines) 2 Finalists(Barr and Welsh) 3-3rds(Lilledahl, Van Ness, Kasak) 1-5th(Davis) and then 2 freshmen(Blaze #1 and Mirasola #15). 7 guys that have finished top 3 and another top 5 is CRAZY...

No doubt. They have been an All Star team the past 3 years or so. I was just doing this yea’s comparison. Iowa actually has a damn good team. But, PSU is so crazy good that they have 7 top 3 finishers, where most have done it more than once. After that you have a 5th and a freshman world champ. When your worst guy on the roster, after all that, is a freshman top 15 recruit, it is damn near impossible to expect a team to realistically challenge them…They things they are doing have been done before though....they did them the last 2 years.
Are you implying Caliendo 157, Kennedy 165, and Gabe 174?? Did Gabe go on Ozempic??I heard Caliendo, Kennedy and Gabe are looking pretty lean…
I don’t know. Just that Gabe is looking smaller than last year for sure.A
Are you implying Caliendo 157, Kennedy 165, and Gabe 174?? Did Gabe go on Ozempic??
I mean, Gabe has to realize 174 is his best path to the lineup this year and the following 2 years. Why would he want to sit behind Angelo? Idk about the other 2, but doesn’t really surprise me about GabeA

Who do you see at 149?Williams is big and I expect him at 157. I could see Gabe certifying at 174 but being the back up 184/97
Breakout year for VV!Who do you see at 149?
My opinion based off of last year would be Estrada, he has a Lugo type body frame for 149, seems pretty aggressive and doesn't back down from the upper ranked wrestlers. I haven't seen enough of the Voiniviches to know what they are capable of. VV was unproductive offensively a few years back but I think he was dealing with an injury at the time.Who do you see at 149?
Block VV Estrada. Wouldn't shock me if Block is the guyWho do you see at 149?
Block VV Estrada. Wouldn't shock me if Block is the guy
All three are flawed. Block couldn't get off bottom (unsustainable), and had gas tank issues (maybe weight cut related). Estrada had scoring issues vs better competition. Voinovich scoring issues period. To me, Estrada is the better answer.Block VV Estrada. Wouldn't shock me if Block is the guy
I thought "Fat" Slaton was a lock for 197 this season?Grothus,Slaton and Weber( he can cut weight with the best)
Block was gassing because the cut was big. Many young guys struggle on bottom. All three are flawed. Block couldn't get off bottom (unsustainable), and had gas tank issues (maybe weight cut related). He should be ready to goAny idea if Block will be ready at the beginning of the year? Or we looking at Dec for return?
Need one of them to have a breakout year. Still think its Estrada but haven't really seen Block at a healthy weight without injury since, well maybe high school. He should be ready to go
Back up at 97? What.the…Williams is big and I expect him at 157. I could see Gabe certifying at 174 but being the back up 184/97
Yes, but the bottom issue is unsustainable until fixed and he's going to have to prove it's fixed; same goes for Kale Peterson. It could be that Block did his best work in freestyle in HS.Block was gassing because the cut was big. Many young guys struggle on bottom.
