Is Ryder Block good to go? I thought it was said he hurt his knee/acl this past season and would be out awhile…?

Career .500 JV High School wrestler checking in.
As always, there will be surprises in the lineup. Would love to see some guys who are willing to lose 10-8 instead of 3-1. Oh, and maybe in win some, too.

Is there any chance of Arnold coming back? Or has this ship officially sailed? I apologize if this has been answered before.

I believe he told Basch that he was going elsewhere; my guess is even if Brands bros were okay w/ him coming back he's not considering it. No idea what other schools are interested and who he is considering though

Without knowing the specific reasoning for Gabes exit, from what I saw he is very talented and sacrificed for the team. He should be a welcome addition somewhere and wish him well.

Victor V should give Estrada a good fight at 157. DeLuca and Luddington will surely get 5 matches at 25/97 and tournaments. Williams is in the lead at 49, pending admission It's a strong line-up.

I'll be interested to see Torres and Miller in action.

Not sure we've seen the last of additions to the line up for the fall
Is RF coming on board?

This has been happening forever. Priorities change. Only difference today is kids have to deal with the asswipes passing judgement on them via social media. No wonder this generation has such anxiety issues. Long live the cesspool.

Hate to be that guy - and I really like Gabe - but these kids also profit greatly vice the old days and get a lot of real positive attention as well via social media. I have no idea why Gabe was dismissed but if he does in fact own it then he also has to live with some of the negative feedback along with all the positive love he’s received the last few years. Wish him all the best!

Outside of the Gabe news, I’m curious on how Ryder is doing with his recovery. Will he take a medical redshirt? I feel like he will be so much better once in full feed and a recovered body.

On Basch today Willie/Basch confirmed the camp/vacation story- also made it sound like Gabe will be moving on and not considering a return. Basch said it was Tom's call (also made it sound Terry would have let him stay). Both said it was probably a culmination of circumstances, not a one-time thing.

Gabe was such a well liked positive kid from a solid family. He and his family even moved here his senior year. He would have been the last recruit I thought would get kicked off the team. There was some good footage him and Terry working one on one this summer on changing how he defended single legs. Would love to know what all led to something this radical happening. Would like to see him go to a junior college to preserve his eligibility, to make a return next year.

I agree, he is almost 6 ft tall, needs to be around 157, which is still lanky for that height. Think he would be much better. He was getting over powered a lot because he couldn’t eat much and couldn’t carry much muscle on that big frame at 141. Sitting out two years with ACL surgeries often doesn’t end well unless you’re a talent like Spencer.

On basch and the brain willie said that Jordan Williams has a couple of classes to take care of and if all goes well with those he will be admitted
Williams is doing the AJF right now (training in Iowa City pending admission) I would guess he gets it done. I am wondering if those are CC classes for academic credit or alcohol related classes for legal/disciplinary purposes. It sounded like CC classes but I know the alcohol consumption classes are common for young people who get in trouble for drinking

Could be he didnt really say what kind of classes they were but did say the legal stuff was behind him

Could be something as silly as a woman. Those women can really force us guys to do some dumbass stuff when we're young. Like you, I hope he's able to pull it together and rejoin the team!

May be ignorant here but is Blanket Chief someone who has credibility? Or is this tweet to be taken with a grain of salt?

Willie also said Ben will be back early in the season and Estrada will be competing for 157.
