Flyers Defense is the story so far through 5 Periods. Flyers Defenders are putting their bodies on the line everytime a shot is taken. Their effort has yet to be matched by The Pens.
Refreshing to see the Flyers winning the game and the other team taking the undisciplined cheap shots in a loss
Pens were better tonight but still not a lot of high-quality chances. And Vladar handled the ones they did get.
They had plenty of chances and came out swinging as well as firing with at least two if not three pucks hitting the post. ( yes, lots of errant shots sailing wide, high etc ) As a fan of both teams having grown up in Flyers land and now living in 87ville, this has been a fun series so far. The Pens owned the second period and came up with Zilch.
Tgar is loving what Rick Tocchet has done with the Flyers. They re back to being tough, young and fast with some great goaltending as you mention. The Pens have started the turnover process and now need to finish it IMHO.
It has been great to watch both teams play playoff hockey. It is becoming clear in the off season the Pens need to finish the overhaul.
Pens are skating fast, Flyers are playing filthy nasty ( in a good way ).
Martone is a beast.
