I'm setting this (and all of the B1G Session Threads) the day before the start of the B1G Tourney, so that everyone knows the plans, has the links, etc.

Please use the thread for all pre-tournament, in-session, and post-session discussion for the 2025 B1G Wrestling Tournament.

When:
March 8, 11:00 am EST

Where:
Welsh-Ryan Arena, Evanston, IL

Action:
This will be R1, then Quarterfinals, as well as some Wrestlebacks)

TV:
BTN

Video Streaming:
For BTN subscribers, you can stream it via the FOX Sports App. For B1G+ subscribers, you can also watch there. (This enables you to dictate which mat you watch, whereas with the BTN TV coverage you are at the whim of the BTN producer as to what mat is on the broadcast.)

Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-Session portion of the broadcast will begin at 10:40 am EST, with the actual PBP of the matches taking place at 11:00 am EST. To get the PBP via LionVision, go to:

Once there, click on the arrow to the left of Wrestling Big Ten Tournament - Session 1

Team Scoring:
The best place to track the team scoring is the Penn State Wrestling Club web site. The link for the team scoring is:

https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org

PBP:
Unfortunately, I'll miss all of Session I. I'll have a couple of short windows during the Session to check this site, but noting that will enable me to provide PBP. I believe @GregPickel will be posting results/doing PBP, and anyone else is encouraged to help with that as well. As always, I remind you to please include the score for the match in your posts, or provide some context (wrestler, school, and weight class) beyond just "that's not a takedown." It also helps to give folks a heads up as to what mat a PSU wrestler will be wrestling on. You can usually get that info from Ironhead's audio PBP, from Penn State Wrestling's twitter account, or from TrackWrestling.

For anyone new to this or doesn't remember/never knew. Track wrestling is pretty good for seeing what mats guys are coming up on. It's free if you don't mind telling it you're still there pretty frequently. Annoying, but works great. And they have brackets that update with the results.

Yeah, that part gets very frustrating. Between Track and the radio, will post mat updates here ASAP.

Absolutely love tournaments. I try to help with the mats too. I will not apologize for being of no help in 2 weeks though :ROFLMAO:

Ha, that's OK! I will be in Philly holding down the fort. Not sure if Tom will be too. Really looking forward to it.

Just guessing the round 1 mat assignments for PS.

If there are 4 mats - Lightning Luke mat #3 and Braedan mat #1.

If there are more than 4 mats never mind about Braedan's mat.

You're one for one so far: Luke is first up on mat 3.

When I looked at the schedule last weekend I saw 10:00 AM so that's what I told my wife. I was looking at the Central time and so she made an appointment for us at 12:30 PM. I am hoping most of the first sessions is finished by then.

When I try to open LionVision on my phone, it doesn’t even stay open. Bizarre

And, just as action is about to start, I have to depart. Have fun, folks. And Go, PSU!

125 pounds first round: Luke Lilledahl vs. Caelan Riley, Illinois

First period
Riley counters a Lilledahl shot and gets in on his legs but they continue to scramble and it leads to a stalemate. Lilledahl shoots and scores off the restart for a 3-0 lead. Riley escapes to 3-1. Lilledahl gets back in on a leg and gets another takedown for a 6-1 lead with 1:15 to wrestle. Riley escapes, and Lilledahl shoots and scores again for a 9-2 lead after one. He has 1:29 in RT.

Second period
Lilledahl is down to start second. He escapes to 10-2. Lilledahl tilts for back points and gets the fall in the second period with 51 seconds left. He's onto the quarterfinals.

Lion Vision now on for me…but only when I Bluetooth it to my speaker…. would not play on my phone’s intrinsic speaker
