Barring something drastic we will likely have 9-10 guys in the semis. This is going to be a fun night of wrestling!
3-1 BD after one. He is able to get to his head inside single easily but having more trouble finishing. More time in the first and he would have finished that last shot.
Davis changing approaches after another head inside single, picking up the leg and driving through for a TD. 6-1.

Davis shoots in early but can't finish a shot as they go off the edge 35 seconds in. Off the restart, they circle for a bit and then Davis drops his level, shoots on a single, and finishes it for a 3-0 lead. Hampton eventually escapes to 3-1. That's the score after the first three minutes. Davis did have a late shot but couldn't finish it before the buzzer.
Second period
Davis takes down and quickly escapes to 4-1. After an uneventful first minute and a half, Davis ducks in on a single and finishes the shot for a 7-1 lead. That's the score after two.
Third period
Hampton is down to start the third. He escapes to 7-2. Davis gets another takedown to 10-2 and rides out the third to finish with 1:40 in riding time and win by major decision, 11-2.

Which two guys do you having losing their QF bouts? Davis has returning B1G champ Dylan Shawver of Rutgers who he beat earlier this year by one point. Luke has Joey Cruz of Iowa who he dismantled earlier this year by tech fall. Shawver is the only guy I can realistically see stopping us from having 10 barring something catastrophic at the 9 other weights.
I thought he looked a tad sluggish. Understandable with not wrestling much lately. Will need to wrestle well to beat Shawver

They started the broadcast by bragging up their four-mat format. They haven't gone back to it since, instead focusing on individual matches.

Agree. Davis needs to stay out of the Ties. Davis wrestles so much better when he can avoid those long ties. We’ll see
