Who does Davis wrestle tonight in the wrestle backs?? ThanksI'm setting this (and all of the B1G Session Threads) the day before the start of the B1G Tourney, so that everyone knows the plans, has the links, etc.
Please use the thread for all pre-tournament, in-session, and post-session discussion for the 2025 B1G Wrestling Tournament.

For BTN subscribers, you can stream it via the FOX Sports App. For B1G+ subscribers, you can also watch there. (This enables you to dictate which mat you watch, whereas with the BTN TV coverage you are at the whim of the BTN producer as to what mat is on the broadcast.)

PBP:
Unfortunately, I'll miss all of Session I. I'll have a couple of short windows during the Session to check this site, but noting that will enable me to provide PBP. I believe @GregPickel will be posting results/doing PBP, and anyone else is encouraged to help with that as well. As always, I remind you to please include the score for the match in your posts, or provide some context (wrestler, school, and weight class) beyond just "that's not a takedown." It also helps to give folks a heads up as to what mat a PSU wrestler will be wrestling on. You can usually get that info from Ironhead's audio PBP, from Penn State Wrestling's twitter account, or from TrackWrestling.
They ruled it a take down and upheld after review. I don't know if it was actually a take down, but he didn't deserve to win that match so I don't care.
I get it, but they'll be talking about Penn State all tournament. If they wanna switch to an all timer, it's fine.

He's probably in no matter what, but needs another win for seeding too. Doesn't qualify for RPI right now.
I think a redshirt would be beneficial for Davis if the lineup allows it. Hit the weight room and train. Come back fresh in 2027.
Davis needs to let it fly and wrestle to win instead of wrestling not to lose. His style right now puts him in uncomfortable positions that are going to go 50/50.
Well it's about consistency right??? If you do a pin alert for everyone why leave one out??? its not like they are common in a tourney like this and you spent some sort of budget to do a big graphic ......just bonkers from a production standpoint god forbid you take 10-15 seconds away from a 9-2 match that just ended the 1st period
If Ono actually does decide to wrestle for Penn State next year, that may be by far the best decision for him.
I’m not holding my breath on that one. It seems like a lot of things would need to happen to make that a reality. Plus, does Ono have any folk style experience?
tbh, I wasn't watching BTN. I get B1G+ specifically to see the mats with our guys cause the main coverage is typically crap. Are we sure that's the only pin they didn't show? Just playing devil's advocate

no cant say definitively its the only one they didnt show but I have all the mats as well and they pretty much got a lot of them that i saw
I feel it’s more mental and lack of confidence. He seems to lack the physicality needed at 133. I know he only went up 1 weight class, but Davis wasn’t a real physical 125 pounder. Someone else on here mentioned it and I agree, I think a redshirt next year would be valuable. He needs to get stronger. Nagao can wrestle 133 if healthy and put Blaze in at 141 as a freshman.

My wife asked what match I mostly want to see. Haha - all 9 PSU wrestlers.
