141 Semi: #1 seed Beau Bartlett vs. #4 seed Vance Vombaur (Minnesota)

I'll use VV for Vombaur

Per 1
A lot of ear-to-ear early in the match (to nobody's surprise). VV in on a single, Beau does a split, VV gets behind and grabs the other leg for the TD, 0-3. Beau to his feet, then tripped down. Back up again, and tripped down again. Beau grabs a leg and turns in, VV locks on the knee, and stopped for a stalemate with 1:25 left (Beau seems confused, and I disagreed with the call). Beau to his feet, tripped down, back to his feet, and he's out, 1-3. 1 minute left. VV shoots a double, but Beau blocks it. VV reaches, then shoots, nothing. End. RT @ 0:52 for VV

Per 2
VV takes bottom. VV quickly flattened, then works up and out, 1-4. RT @ 0:42 for VV. Beau gets a single, he has VV bouncing, VV does a split, dancing again, then a split as VV locks around the waist, and a stalemate with 0:40 left. VV shoots and gets a head inside single, Beau sprawls, the buzzer sounds. End. RT @ 0:42 for VV

Per 3
Beau takes bottom. He works up, back down, up again, and RT goes over 1 min. OOB with 1:33 left. Beau to his feet, back down, works up again, and is tripped down again. Beau to his feet, hits a roll as he's returned, and then he's out, 2-4. Beau shoots a single, and a stalemate with 0:56 left. Beau sort of shoots, nothing. Beau nearly shoots, nothing. Stall warning on VV. Beau shoots a single, nothing. Another stall call, 3-4. End. With 1:36 in RT, it's a 3-5 DEC fro VV.

Ugh

Beau will be in the consolation semis tomorrow.

I dont understand Bartlett. He has great shots just seems reluctant to fire. Hes been that way his entire career. Good career but i always walk away thinking he has more to give. Guess im just wrong. Dont want to dump on the kid because hes been fantastic. I just get frustrated for him

Brock Hardy of Nebraska beats Jesse Mendez of Ohio State 9-8. So, Mendez-Bartlett, a possible championship final at 141, could be the third place match.

149 Semi: #1 seed Shayne Van Ness vs. #5 seed Kannon Webster (Illinois)

I'll use KW for Webster

Per 1.
Quick stoppage for an eye polk (I think). SVN reaches for an ankle, nothing. Lots of collar ties, ear-to-ear, and both trying to control wrists and the head, but no shots. 0:30 left. End

Per 2
KW defers. SVN takes bottom. He's quickly to his feet, and out in 7 sec, 1-0. SVN gets a low single, KW over the shoulder, they scramble, SVN in the better position, but KW gets away, so nothing. Hard to believe eKW avoided that TD. SVN gets in on a single, not much time left, and the buzzer sounds. End. RT @ 0:07 for KW

Per 3
KW takes bottom. KW works to his feet, but they are OOB with 1:46 left. KW sits out, and gets away for the esc, 1-1. RT is 0:14 for SVN, so it's not a factor. KW in on a single, gets behind, SVN with a split on the edge, and they are OOB with 0:57 sec left. KW working underhooks, nearly gets behind him, but SVN squirts away. KW in on a single, and gets a TD with 0:04 left. End. 1-4 DEC for Kannon Webster. Wow, I did not expect that.
