SVN wins out and he’s getting seeded 3rd at nationals. Bartlett wins out, I think he gets seeded 1st (Mendez, Hardy, Jamison would all have 3 or more losses). Bartlett takes 4th and I think he’d get seeded 3rd (Mendez, Alirez then Beau).

184 Semi: #1 seed Carter Starocci vs. #5 seed Jaxon Smith (Maryland)

I'll use JS for Smith

Per 1
CStar shoots, nothing. Stopped for stalemate with 2:03 left. CStar with an underhook at the edge, JS with a whizzer, and they go OOB with 1:09 left. Stoppage as JS gets poked in the eye. CStar gets a single on the very edge, he tries to pull him in, but then goes OOB as he dives for the other ankle. Stall warning on SM. CStar in on a single but OOB with 0:02 left. End

Per 2
CStar takes bottom. He works up, and is out in 7 sec, 1-0. CStar in on a single, again on the edge, JS does a split, CStar trying to pull him back in, and he gets the TD, 4-0. OOB with 0:54 left. JS on a knee, CStar bring him down and flattens him. CStar really working the right wrist. End. RT @ 1:00 for CStar.

Per 3
JS takes bottom. MS to his feet, and he's out in 6 sec, 4-1. JS working the edge again, and a stall warning against JS as they go OOB, 5-1. JS sort of shoots, and CStar with a counter for a TD, 8-1. JS is quickly flattened. Cstar cuts him, 8-2. OOB with 0:47 left. CStar shoots, but they go OOB with 0:33 left. CStar in on a head outside single, and gets the TD with 8 sec left, 11-2. With 1:54 in RT, it's a 12-2 MAJOR

Anyone know what barr is weighing in at? He looks small compared to most guys. I know he went up for Carter but just curious

197 Semi: #2 seed Josh Barr vs. #3 seed Jacob Cardenas (Michigan)

I'll use JC for Cardenas

This should be interesting

Per 1
JC to his knees right off the whistle. Fortunately, he doesn't stay there. Stalemate with 1:40 left (and not a lot of action so far). No real shots. End

Per 2
Barr takes bottom. Barr to his feet, returned, to his feet, and peels away in 11 sec, 1-0. And back to ear-to-ear. JC sort of reaches, nothing. Barr nearly shoots, but doesn't. End. Another period with no real shots. RT @ 0:11 for JC

Per 3
JC takes bottom. JC to his feet, returned, and they go OOB with 1:56 left. JC sits out and gets the esc, 1-1, Barr shoots, JC with a whizzer, and they go OOB with 1:33 left. First decent shot of the match. JC seems to be content to not have any offense. End RT @ 0:01 for Barr

SV-1
Barr reaches, but JC to his knees, nothing. JC sort of shoots from center field, and Barr sort of countered, but nothing. Stoppage with 1:23 for hand to the face (I think). Barr shoots, nothing. JC shoots, Barr counters, then JC gets a single, but JC gets the TD. 1-4 DEC for JC with 0:51 left in SV-1

Sounds like Casey is working this ref pretty hard in the Kerk match.

285 Semi: #2 Greg Kerkvliet vs. #3 Josh Heindselman (Michigan)

I'll use JM for Josh

Per 1
Kerk in on a single and gets the TD, 3-0. He has JH flattened. JH not doing much on bottom, though Kerk not doing a lot on top. RT goes over 1 min. Ref seems to want more action. Stalemate with 1:19 left. JH to his feet, turns, and he's out, 3-1. Kerk nearly falls underneath JH, but doesn't, and OOB with 0:21 left. End. RT @ 1:21 for Kerk

Per 2
Kerk takes bottom. He works up, and is out in 5 sec, 4-1. Kerk in on a single and spins behind for the TD, 7-1. Stall warning on JH who is flat as a pancake. Stall call on Kerk stops action with 0:20 left. End. RT @ 2:27 for Kerk

Per 3
JH takes bottom. Kerk gets him flattened after a bit. Kerk traps the right arm, and a stall call on JH makes it 8-1. Kerk working a bit of a crossface, then seemed to try a bow-and-arrow, but gives up on that and switches to just controlling. End. With 4:27 in RT, it's a 9-1 MAJ for Kerk

Just love how the B1GNetwork only interviews wrestlers who just beat a PSU’er.
They usually head straight to the back to do post-match stuff. Not defending BTN as it did strike me as odd too but I also know how quickly the Penn State guys typically bounce and don't return.

What a wild semifinals. Great night for NE.

Felt LL had a 50/50 shot of winning and he goes out and dominates.

BD still alive for 3rd

Did not like the match up for BB vs the Minny kid, but expected him to find a way and didn’t.

Van Ness destroyed the IL kid in the dual and looked gassed tonight in the loss.

Kasak stopped the bleeding with authority.

MM did what he was supposed to do despite getting taken down for the first time this year.

Levi rounding into post season form. Has a big one with Pinto. Not sure where the so called reaction rule was in Pinto’s match. That’s not a TD if you factor reaction time in. Almost everything went NE’s way in the semi’s.

CS doing CS things.

Felt Barr’s match was 50/50. He dominates on his feet and can’t get close to a TD in 2 matches vs Cardenas.

Kerk looked good and has a showdown with Gable.

Feel good about LL, MM, Levi and CS winning Big Ten crowns. I love what I’m seeing from kasak, but a little concerned as Cannon is red hot.

I wish Kerk the best. Gable is phenomenal and is what’s even scarier is he is way bigger and stronger than he ever was. Feldman is a big dude and he makes him look small.

It happens every year. This is nothing new. Penn State gets so much coverage during finals, they make it a point to focus on others before then. B1Gs and NCAAs
