Thinking ahead to national seeding. Bartlett has beaten Mendez twice and Hardy, 1 loss on the year. Hardy, Mendez and Jamison all have 3 losses. Should be:
1: Bartlett
2: Hardy
3: Alirez
4: Mendez
5: Jamison

How it likely ends up if they favor recency
1: Hardy
2: Bartlett
3: Alirez
4: Mendez
5: Jamison

I am not the wrestling expert that you guys are (learning slowly), but it is impressive the margin by which we won this tournament given that some of our boys did not wrestle as well as expected. PSU is flat-out stacked.

149 3rd Place Match: #1 seed Shayne Van Ness vs. #2 seed Kyle Parco (Iowa)

I'll use KP for Parco

Another contest that most expected to see for the final

Per 1
Not much thru 1. SVN in on a shot, they scramble a bit, and SVN gets to the side for the TD, 3-0. SVN tilts him, and Parco eventually rolls to his stomach, but 4 NF makes it 7-0. End. RT @ 1:12 for SVN

Per 2
SVN takes bottom. He works up slowly, tripped back down, to his feet, and gets away, 8-0. RT is below 1 min (0:51 for SVN). SVN in on a single, then a throw and gets the TD, 11-0. He tilts him, but KP rolls through, so no NF. Stall warning on KP. End. RT @ 1:50 for SVN

Per 3
KP takes bottom. KP works up, but is returned. SVN flattens him. KP works up, back down. SVN tries for a bow-and-arrow, but doesn't get it. RT goes over 3 min, so it's locked. Stall warning on KP makes it 12-0. OOB with 0:20. KP stands, and is returned. OOB with 5 sec left. End. With 3:50 in RT, it's a 13-0 MAJ for Shayne Van Ness to finish in 3rd place!!!

SVN just likely got the 3rd seed at nationals: Henson, Lovett, SVN, Parco probably in that order. Curious to see where Webster gets seeded, he’s going to be a problem.

Yes and many years this tournament is more difficult than the NCAA Championships

We just need to work hard on finishing against Taller wrestlers before Nationals. Set ups play a big factor.

Not sure why Kayak cut him loose so easy to start the 2nd. Now a weak stall call.

157 Final: #2 seed Tyler Kasak vs. #8 seed Brandon Cannon (Ohio State)

I'll use BC for Cannon

Per 1
Ear-to-ear right off the whistle. Then BC in on a single, kayak works out and uses heavy hips to force a stalemate. BC reaches, nothing. Kasak working underhooks, and then Kasak gets banged in the head so the ref lets him get his bearings. BC reaches, nothing. Kasak back to underhooks, then BC is away. 1 min left. BC in on a single, Kasak with a split, they roll and Kasak comes out on top for a TD, 3-0. That was impressive by kayak. BC works up, and is returned. End. RT @ 28 sec for Kasak

Per 2
BC takes bottom. He's to his feet, and kayak basically cuts him, 3-1. BC barrels in, nothing. kayak sort of reaches, nothing. BC in on a low single, Kasak kicks free and they are OOB with 0:43 sec and a stall warning on Kasak. (Justified)BC shoots, Kaska nearly counters, and OOB with 8 sec left. Blood time for Kasak. (He had checked himself with his hand @ 10 - 15 sec earlier, so I think he knew he was bleeding. End. RT @ 0:35 for Kasak

Per 3
Kasak takes bottom. BC tries to throw in a boot, Kasak to his feet, and he's out in 12 sec, 4-1. They work on the edge. BC works in and they go OOB with 1:17 and a stall call on Kasak makes it 4-2. Kasak with a lateral drop for the TD and is getting swipes. 7-2 on the TD. The ref is holding 4 points. Kasak doesn't seem to be close to a pin. Eventually, BC rolls to his stomach and gets the NF, 11-2. Stoppage for blood on BC. They may both have blood -- hard to tell for sure. 0:13 left. BC stands, is lifted, returned. End. With 1:25 in RT, it's a 13-2 MAJ!!!!

Kasak finishes in 1st place

Great match by Kasak. Very calculated. Attack when it’s there. Defend when you have too.
