I wrestled, as did both my sons at some point, so my wife has been around it quite a bit. However, if I turn on another conference championship tournament right now, she isn’t going to be happy.

They have basically given up. It’s kindof sad now. It was more fun when they thought they had a chance.
He has never been overly aggressive. I have been waiting for something to light a fire under him for the last several years. He is who he is. Calm and collected. It’s worked for him. Gable is just on a different level athletically.
Yeah. Bo will probably win quite a lot. But he’s not making up 70 team points.
Just caught up. That was a really disappointing effort from Greg. I know Gable is really good but it didn't even look like Greg wanted to be there.
Kasak - awesome performance
Mitch - outstanding representative of the university. All class after that match in an event where class was lacking.
Levi - amazing effort
Carter - doesn't seem to have the same drive as previous years and I hope that doesn't catch up with him at NCAAs

They are hanging their hats on Bo, Ferrari, DeLuca, and Luddington. They are all great recruits, but until this coaching staff proves it can develop and handle the talent properly……TBD. Remember all that talent from Young Guns + Marinelli and Cass and they still only got one title out of those kids and massively underperformed when it counted most times.

You know, it’s weird. One of their posters made a comment that he wondered if the kid Starocci wrestled would consider transferring out of “that sh*thole”. His words, not mine. I’m reading it thinking, your program is chasing Minny right now. Minny has momentum and a nice team. They are trending up. Iowa is not. They still don’t get.

Kerk looks to have significant length on Gable. He has to figure out how to use that to his advantage. Otherwise, Gable is too quick.

Looking for an explanation. I was watching B1G network but listening to Byers. He commented more than once about the quick stalling calls [in general not PSU related] Then I watched the Ridge Lovett 3rd period. I t sure looked to me like he was running for his life. Why wasn't that stalling?

I gotta call Horsesh!# on this. For some reason people think that unless you jump up and down, scream, and show every single emotion on a billboard that you don't care, are scared, etc. Just like some fans always said that Ruth didn't work hard and relied on physical talent because he made things look easy and wasn't emotive like Taylor.
This is what makes our staff so successful. They don't try to force a style on a wrestler. They work with their strengths.
I've always felt that using his wingspan to work from angles could work. However, getting things to work against a talent like Steveson is not an easy task.

Yes I agree he needs to try something different. That in my mind is what they should have tried yesterday. Sure the Big10 title is nice but most would rather have the NCAA title. "Why not try some new things and strategy. Kerk just didn't look energized in the least. I get Gable is that good to me why not use that length and try different things to see what works and built on that for the ncaa tourney. But alas that is why I am here and Cael is coaching that team
Kerk is good on top and yet he chose not to go on top. He didn’t shoot like he normally does. No one said jump up and down. No one said go out of what you normally do and yet kerk did go out of his way to do something different like trying to throw Stevenson and not doing the things he has done all season. Usually when great wrestlers get together they go to the basics. Stevenson went with the basics and kerk did not. Stevenson went with the basics because he had never wrestled kerk and their was probably some fear, doubt, pre match jitters etc as there always is when you play against someone.

They've wrestled two times prior. 2021 Kerk lost 9-4 in the NCAA quarter-finals. 2022 semi-finals Kerk lost 8-3.
And I beleive they wrestled in high school and kerk lost 3-2 I meant to say recently. But kerk didnt wrestle like he has last 3 years 23-25. I hope he has a chance to wrestle him again at nationals and brings it.
14 hours later, and the Big Ten Wrestling YouTube channel still has a screw-up of their video of the Lillendahl - Smith final. The video only has the 1st 15 seconds of the match, which is really the TV preview before the actual action. I was hoping they would fix it overnight, but it's still messed up.
