I know most posters are talking about the offense, but the D for Da Bears sucks eggs. Non-existent pass rush. The secondary is getting torched. No turnovers created. Goff could have thrown for 3 more touchdowns if the Lions needed it. The D collapsed in the 4th quarter against the Vikings Monday and that continued all game today. Da Bears looked like a beaten team on the sidelines. No emotion just a blank stare on their faces.
Well they have 15 games to go. Hope they can improve.
Looks like it is gonna be a long season

The whole team is a mess, but Caleb has looked like one too. He looks skittish and lacks confidence on virtually every passing play.

Now the Vikings offense looks like a mess again against the Falcon. McCarthy is a bum and Williams lost to him too after he played like a bum for three quarters in the opener.

Bad Owners = Bad Professional Teams. Old Lady McCaskey needs to sell to the Ryans or someone else and let them find a winning coach.
It was MaCarthy's second NFL game, It was Caleb's 19th

Oh I agree, that should be their priority. I don't think it has to be a binary choice, I just think that if you have the opportunity to get a QB with serious potential, you should do that over getting a great offensive lineman. But in general, yes, they say "build from the inside out" for a reason.
I agree that it doesn't have to be a binary choice and I like building from the inside out.

We can disagree in the QB/OL debate, it's just opinions after all.

It does happen that college players' games may or may not translate well into the NFL (and to the specific team that drafts them). Part of my opinion here is that it seems, based on decades of evidence, that it's really really hard to identify talent that translates at the QB position. I honestly haven't looked at that same question for the O Line and maybe it's just as tough.

Yeah, they did not look good.

Not to be too boring and obvious, but a better offense can help fix the D as well. Longer drives give the D more time to rest and plan and more scoring gives the D a moral boost - are they trying to defend a lead, trying to prevent a lead, or are they just trying to stop the excessive bleeding? Being down has to be demoralizing when you know your offense can't recover no matter what you do on D.

Proof yet again that NOBODY can coach or explain complementary football like corbi

Not JUST Caleb. You win or lose as a team
Caleb looks like a bust. The GM should have been fired years ago - he must have dirt on somebody to have kept the job with the Team’s record since he got it.

Honestly, I knew the Bears would have a rough season when they skipped drafting a real LT in order to draft a 3rd round TE in the 1st. 😂

It’s much easier to be a Cats fan, than a Bears fan.

Caleb doesn't look like a bust. So far he doesn't look like the generational talent we were promised either, but to act like this guy is JaMarcus Russell or Ryan Leaf is ridiculous.

Well it is for the Bears, anyway. Top OL guys tend to be more predictable.

Dallas is worse then Da Bears. Bad turnover by Cowboys hit the receiver right in his hands and he pops it up in the air and intercepted. One more big drive by our beloved and Ben Johnson has his first win as coach.

The Bears have outclassed the Cowboys in every phase of the game. I don't want to hear anymore complaints about them.

It lives! A Bears offense!

Love how they ran the ball in Q3. That drive was 19 plays over 10 minutes. It was beautiful.

Depleted defense held up well. Having Ceedee leave the game certainly helped.

Darnell Wright is a penalty machine.

Da Bears up 31- 14 end of 3qtrs. Playing against a D that is worse then they are. Gotta luv Eberflus
WTF was that defense on the TD right before the half??? Why aren’t the playing a 5 across zone on a short field? That was criminal.

The Bears have a very winnable game next week against the Raiders. Let's hope they can build on their performance today and hit the Bye week with a 2 game winning streak.

Just got back. Can't believe the Cowboys kicked FGs and threw passes on some short yardage situations. Bears were giving up 6 yars per carry

Terrible play call. The Cowboys have had problems on D every game this year. They have been getting torched in the secondary big time. Did you see when Eberflus was talking to one of his guys on the sidelines. The look on both their faces was like I have no idea what's going on out there. Good luck in BIG D this year Mr. Jones.

The Cowboys stink this year.

Parsons got lucky.

Exciting game so far! It's much like the Cowboys-Giants game from last week.

Agree. Their defense is completely disorganized. Blown coverages not sure of their assignments. Da Bears had receivers wide open even by high school standards.
Ceedee Lamb going down early in the game hurt their offense.
All in all a nice win for the Monsters of the Midway and let's see if they can build on this game and go out and beat the Raiders next week.

Do posters think Swift's abysmall ypc is on him or is the line letting him down?
The line hasn't been great at run blocking, but Swift goes down the moment anyone lays a finger on him. Not sure what it looks like now, but after the Lions game the Bears had the best yardage before contact and the worst yardage after contact in the NFL. Get Swift in the open field and he's a weapon, sure, but Ben Johnson likes to run it between the tackles and Swift is not good at that. (Which is why the Lions dumped him in the first place.)

Also re: Darnell Wright, he had 8 penalties all of last year and already has 6 this year. If he can clean that up he has Pro Bowl potential, he is an absolute load out there.

Didn’t look like a bust last week.

I know it was only the Cowboys.
and Fitz was only good because of Doc.

The running joke is that Eberflus finally developed Caleb on Sunday.

Let’s see how he does the rest of the season. That might be the worst defense in the NFL.
Not so fast. They still have to play Cincinnati!

Hats off to CW for pulling it off today. He was under duress all day, had veterans failing him (Cole Kmet WTF today?) and was handed some terrible play calls, and still led the game winning drive.

He and Odunze are the only players worth a **** on that offense.

The Bears won. That's good. Maybe they won because the Raiders were just a little more inept then Chicago. The guys kept fighting and prevailed. An ugly game for sure. Just a disjointed kind of game. Kmet was terrible.
Not much else to say other then the game came down to a field goal attempt and what seems like an inordinate amout of blocked kicks this year in the NFL the Bears got theirs and sealed the deal.

I think 6-7 wins is the outcome this year. Tough division and NFC slate. But Caleb shows signs of growth and the defense seems to be responding after that horrid Detroit game. But that roster needs a lot of work. Few, if any, playmakers on front 7 D.

I was never in love with the idea of using the #1 overall pick on Caleb Williams, He has interesting talent but not sure he is a winner, Thought they could have parlayed that pick into an OL and other assets that would have enabled a relatively average QB to succeed. Sorry but just not sure I see him as the winner that every one envisions. I have seen too many top picks at QB fail. Baegent may ultimately be the better QB. Not the best talent but a better head for the game. Of course if they play him in a couple games they might make him valuable enough to trade for a 1st roudn pick.

Hope I eat my words but based on past experience....
I thought it was a terrible move too. They should have parlayed the pick into a similar package from the previous years pick. Next year’s top 3 pick plus assets now and later. Justin Fields is a better QB than Caleb. He just had nobody to help him.
