Well I think it’s Super Bowl or fired for Nick in 26
He is definetly going to feel the pressure next year. I do like Mannion and think the offense will be much different next year with him calling the plays. This team has a year or two before some retooling needs to happen. Lane at OT, Goedert at TE, see what happens with AJ and his whining, as well as signing key young players to keep this team at the top. I do think it will help Howie having Joe Douglas back as well.

Why do you think Mannion will be better than Kevin calling plays?? Man ion hasn’t called a play as an OC in his life

Based on numerous reviews of former players and people who coached with Mannion all have stated it's only a matter of time before he is a HC. Glowing reports of his offensive mind and schemes. Did you hear of that about Patullo other than he was a friend of Nick?

Some smoke of Stout going to the Giants
I think he coaches again, but I dont think in 2026. IIRC he is still under contract with the Eagles, so unless they make him OC as a promotion he isnt going anywhere without comp to the Eagles.

Yeah and Howie is pretty tough on those things and not strengthening opponents in your division.

I bitched all year about some of the blocking schemes , they just didnt look right, to me it looked like a QB drew them up. Kind of what of seen from PSU sometimes.
My other concern is that there seem's to be rumblings that Lane Johnson is going to retire with Stout leaving. He doesn't want to start over again in a whole new system and coaches.

that might make sense, but ending the season not playing because of injury , I believe, is not the way he would want to go out . Plus the last season has to have a bad taste in his mouth, I know it does to me, and I am not even a player!

For me as well. I really thought they had a good chance at repeating at the start of the season.

Lots of noise about Siriani lately, and none of it is good. If you're Lurie, do you make a change? I know it seems crazy- but...

What n start over now?? He’ll be given enough rope to hang himself like the last time, except they won a Superbowl instead

Unless 2026 is an absolute **** show, I don’t think Sirianni gets fired before the end of 2027.

He’s simply been too good. Historic in many ways. Those types of starts don’t come around often, especially for a franchise like the Eagles.

Disagree. Jeffrey and Howie think there is so much talent on the team anybody could take them to the playoffs. So without a very very deep run I think they will look elsewhere

Mostly/all noise.

Stout departing was not expected (by fans)

The OC and QB coach are well regarded, but don't have a lot of play calling experience.

And to a lesser extent, rumblings about Dickerson and Lane are out there, though nothing definitive for them or from the team (i.e., just a lot of speculation).

Lurie, Howie, and Siriani have not spoken since the above took place.

And the beat writers have nibbled around the edges about what took place to land the OC and for Stout to step away, but they've yet to publish the full story.

So, with two sports-talk stations in Philadelphia, and lots of blog sites that cover the Birds, it's a perfect situation for people to speculate, make claims that are opinions, guesses, etc.

I don't think the noise is anything more than idle, uninformed, speculation.

This happens every year a player has an injured plagued season. they get to the end of the season, the tank is empty, injuries leave them with a sour taste in their mouth. 2-3 months later, they start to get the hunger again and it's right back into the fray. Lane, Kelce, BG.... they all went through it.

Stoutland is a massive loss frankly.

Mailata's comments make it seem like they knew it was coming to a certain extent. I don't think it's as bad as others do. Plus I think it was about time for some offensive turnover. now, to what extent Manion changes things, we'll see but i'm hopeful.

The last thing I want is a QB drawing up the blocking schemes

@Tom McAndrew posted a great Roob write-up summing my thoughts. After last season, the offense needed to be redesigned from the ground up.

If you bring in Mannion, then you need to push your chips to the middle and give him complete control to implement a new system.

There was always likely to be collateral damage. Frankly, Stout surviving 3 coaching regimes was a complete anomaly. We were lucky to have him for as long as we did, but change is inevitable and now is as good a time as any.

And I say this knowing that Mannion’s success isn’t guaranteed. But the Eagles haven’t been afraid to blow it up and redesign. That’s led to multiple titles under this owner and GM. They have to take their shot.

100% agree. Roob's first point is what makes me less upset about Stout leaving. we ALL clamored for a new offense and complained about Sirianni meddling. well, this is the first step. complete house cleaning and allowing the 33 year old wunderkind complete autonomy to build his staff. Too many leftovers from Sirianni's days at Indy or SD. Could bite them though, as Mannion is an unknown, but he's got enough backing from enough people that i'm optimistic.

the thing I see is, Nick is no longer in charge, Howie is. He is the one making these hires. I dont see how you can turn this over to a 33 yr w 2 yrs coaching experience. Playing and coaching are different. All that is being done is trading Nick cronies for Mannion cronies, and in the mean time you run Stout off. I bitched all year about the blocking schemes and the fact they werent sound, and now we know why. I hope I am wrong, the Eagles have a great offense etc, look at the D it was a crusty old vet that turned them around, and IMO that is what the O needed as well. Expect no crusty old vet wanted to work for a de facto HC in Howie.
