Still got those plaques slick...😉.Anyone with halfway decent computer skills can Google NJ, high school wrestling and make assessments on articles written by former wrestlers/ wrestling experts, come on here and make charts and form opinions. When you live that level of wrestling, then you can be a critic and be taken seriously
Been a critic for years. And talk recruiting with D1 coaches all the time. Not a day goes by where I'm not communicating with a D1 coach. You are totally lost

I just don't like the Glasgow/Comp comparison. He hasn't done anything wrong to even be associated to those two. Far too early to be this critical IMO. Especially when he's clearly in a developmental position and not a starting role. Let's just wait and see how he develops. Season is very early.

Yeah, ok. Of all the guys to choose from, he conveniently chose the two black athletes and suggested that Chapman has similar off the mat issues. Absolutely disgusting series of posts.
Only to a social justice warrior. You are the one who connected race. You've done this before. Feel good about yourself?

Speaking of busts. What ever happened to the kid a couple years back? Top 10 recruit, never panned out and I believe transferred somewhere else and I haven’t heard from him since. Can’t come up with his name. Drawing a blank. I believe he was a 41 pounder

I remember..Jo Jo Aragona. Is he still wrestling somewhere?

He ended up at Campbell and then I think he stopped wrestling shortly after. Priorities changed, wanted to spend time with his girlfriend and was just done with the sport.

Eh, maybe because they both failed to live up to expectations?
Glasgow and Camp with much higher credentials and much more collegiate wrestling. Chapman without such high accolades and has been wrestling in college for two weeks. How anyone can try and compare Chapman to the other two at this point is mind boggling.

Ya wanna wager that I am right on this one.Of course you'll go " just like your Penn State predictions".Let's get past that.I'll put money on it he won't pan out.And how do you know who he socializes with? You an on campus reporter or secret spy? OK, I will reserve judgment on this one.I got my beliefs to what will unfold.Lets see how this goes and then we will assess this in 2 months.

He was too busy playing patty cake with his girlfriend and getting involved in some other extra curriculars. Kid was one dimensional. It reminded me of Scott Winston's career. This feared HS recruit who peaked as a senior, amd found out what college wrestling is all about.By the way, Scott Winston is a helluva kid.

not really an accurate description of Winston career. He went 106-34 4x NQ , lost in the R12 twice and battled injuries after his freshman season and in 5 years really didn’t have anyone in the room on his level to train with. Without Winston rutgers never reaches the level they are at today. No Ashnault ,no Suriano no top 10 ncaa finish. His commitment to Rutgers changed the trajectory of the program, he walked so Rutgers could run lol

Aragona was a 1x state champ who got hot the end of his senior year and shot up the recruiting ranking then got to college and didn’t really care about wrestling and spent half his time chasing girls and the other half arguing with people on the forum lol

Every single program has their share of Aragonas, Winstons, etc. It’s a brutal sport especially at the college level given the physical and mental demands. Other than a handful of blue-chips nobody knows how a recruit will fare at the next level. For every Aragona there is a CJ Composto from Penn - no name recruit that placed one year at NJ states.

Where do you come up with this stuff? I never pretended to guess who he socializes with. I just found it asinine people are making comparisons regarding expectations with very high level, talented wrestlers who have had multiple years of collegiate experience versus someone who didnt, win a state title, wasn't heavily recruited and has wrestled competitively for two whole weeks in college. And WTH? Asking me if I'm the on campus reporter or spy? That's laughable coming from someone who pretends to be the all knowing king of information, one who has such great inside scoops which have neither not materialized or have no backing behind such precious information yet is unable to believe there are actually people on this board who know a whole hell of a lot about wrestling.

Think the best way to test a recruit is, though unconventional—come in with a NQ lvl college wrestler around his proj weight and see how he will fare. If he’s a Composto and winning— might have yourself a diamond in the rough.. if he’s losing/struggling might not be worth investing in that blue chipper.

Nobody said that.We are just surprised that he didn't have better success, considering he did wrestle good competition, but definitely not world beaters and lost in a bad way. Don't want to bash the kid, because he is definitely one of my favorite wrestlers, but he is a far cry from the kid who took it too Ludington last year. We will see.We will either have the next James Green ,or another Glasgow/ Campolatano. Balls in his court.

Scottie was the man in hs. I wrestled with him before the family moved to jackson and was on multiple Team NJ s with him.

He was a THE key to goodale getting the job and starting the team off on the right track. Our season tickets for ru wrestling are next to each other, he's very humble about his Rutgers experience and is the ultimate team guy.

That's not fair to composto, he placed high in nj states and then was hurt his sr year. If you have ever been around/talked to the kid, you know his work ethic and technique are second to none.

I talk with him and the family, I have told him he should get his masters at Rutgers but he loves Philly 😂

I agree with your overall point but Composto was hardly a no name. No idea what his rank was but he would have been a state favorite his senior year if he didn’t get hurt. I believe he’s the only person to beat Olivieri in the state tournament.

I’m a huge Composto fan. The point is he was never a PK growing up. Was a really good wrestler but not considered a blue-chip national recruit in that class, but I bet he’s probably outperformed almost every NJ ranked ahead of him. Amazing college career.
