BD in on a nice shot, takes Brown to his back, but reaction time allows Brown to roll out of it and no score awarded. Back on their feet.
Brown trying desperately to work double unders. Tries to horse BD, Brown in on a deep shot and after a scramble time expires. BD up 4-1 after two and Brown will choose down.
BD trying to ride, but Brown gets a reversal and almost gets NF but Davis is able to belly out. Now he cuts BD. It's 5-3 BD with 1:09 left in the bout.
Braeden will hold on to win 5-3 over Brown from Maryland. Nice win for BD.
Another decision for Davis! Someone send that memo about bonus points
That reversal was almost a favor for Davis, wasted a lot of clock.....

BB working underhooks a lot, but can't get a shot off of it. And just like that, a flurry at the end, but nothing. End. RT @ 21 sec for Davis

Stall warning on Davis as they go OOB with 31 sec left. Davis kind of shoots, nothing, BB tries an inside trip off of underhooks, nothing. Davis shoots, and they go OOB with 2 sec left. He had a MD in his first bout. He is 1/2 on bonus this tournament.

Up a weight class, injured mid-season, whatever BD gets is gravy imo…
an 8 seed vs. 9 seed match -- they usually are pretty close
Bonus points are great when you can get them but at this point just win and move on. The other stuff will take care of itself.
Davis looks more in control this year. I know his scrambling is always a journey but he looks more confident/prepared.
Love to see Davis stay on his offense instead of shutting down. He’s got #1 seed Lucas Byrd in the Quarters tomorrow. Lucas majored Davis last time they wrestled I believe. Hopefully he believes he can pull the upset.
Yeah, much better than an escape and a TD. After Davis’ escape he only gave up a point. I don’t like feeling that I want Davis to chew up the clock. I’d much rather him scoring and want more time on the clock to score even more.

Exactly. I think some have written off Davis too soon. The kid needs some recovery time and some hard time in the weight room. He’ll be fine. A redshirt would be beneficial to him.
