Nebraska is leading now with 60 points to our 53.5. I know we’ll make that up in the second half today, but we should never be in this position.🤦🏻

Penn State junior Levi Haines opened up his 174-pound quarterfinal match with No. 7 Dannty Wask of Navy with a late takedown to win, 7-2, and move on to the semifinals. He is the Lions' fourth semifinalist of the tournament.

174 Qtr: #2 seed Levi Haines vs. #7 seed Danny Wask (Navy)

I'll use DW for Wask

Per 1
Haines shoots, has a single, lifts it and gets behind for the TD, 3-0. OOB with 1:42. DW gets out after a bit, 3-1. DW sort of shoots, nothing. End. RT @ 15 sec for Haines.

Per 2
Haines takes bottom. Haines up, back to his knees, back up, and finally out, 4-1. DW shoots, Haines with a counter, nearly gets something, but doesn't. Haines shoots a single, and has a leg but DW with a whizzer. Stalemate with 9 sec left. End. RT @ 12 sec for DW

Per 3
DW takes bottom. Caution on Haines. Caution on DW. DW works up, lifted, and returns. DW hits a roll and tries to get a reversal. Haines hangs on to a leg, and a stalemate with 1:36 left. DW works up, and Haines cuts him, 4-2. RT not a factor (23 sec for Haines). DW shoots, Haines sprawls, nothing. Haines shoots, blocked. DW shoots and gets a leg, Haines sprawls, and gets away. Haines shoots a double and gets a TD with 11 sec left, 7-2. End. It's a 7-2 DEC for Haines

He is in to the Semis!!!

This has been a strange round. PSU wrestlers struggling to score, trying to hang on in matches and looking gassed in the 3rd. I do agree with other posters that opponents are doing nothing offensively and the refs not calling stalling therefore promoting that style.

184 Qtr: #1 seed Carter Starocci vs. #8 seed Jaxon Smith (Maryland)

I'll use JS for Smith

Per 1
Stoppage for ??with 2:11 left (either stalemate or OOB; probably stalemate). CStar is, as usual, active. OOB with 1:34 left. Stall warning on JS. CStar gets an underhook and shoots off of it, but they are OOB with 1:01 left. Cstar with a head inside single, shelfs it, and trips JS down, and gets the TD as they go OOB with 38 sec left, 3-0. Caution on Smith. JS gets flattened and not doing much. End. RT @ 41 sec for CStar

Per 2
CStar takes bottom. He works up to his feet, and he's out in @ 13 sec, 4-0. OOB with 1:23 left. CStar shoots, and a stall call on JS as they go OOB with 1:01 left, makes it 5-0. JS sort of shoots, CStar with a counter, but they go OOB with 31 sec. Stoppage for ?? with 24 sec left. CStar reaches, nothing. CStar shoots and gets a single, lifts the leg, trips JS down but he hits a split, and they go OOB as the period ends. RT @ 28 sec for CStar

Per 3
JS takes bottom. After a bit, he hit sa roll, but CStar stays with him, and they go OOB with 1:42 left. JS starts up, back down. CStar nearly tilts him, but then JS grabs a leg, CStar frees it, and cuts him 5-1. OOB with 37 sec left (surprised there wasn't a stall call there). CStar in on a head inside single, JS does a split and then dives for a leg, but CStar gets the TD, 8-1. End. With 1:57 in RT, it's a 9-1 MAJ for CStar

Let's see if Barr can repeat his earlier performance against Beard, however I am worried about his ability to finish with that injured leg. Beard is known for gassing, though.

I could almost forget about the two disappointing matches from earlier, if Barr wins. Almost......

Another guy that didn’t try to score. Really annoying how most of these opponents doing nothing and getting rewarded. Smith literally walked off the mat on his own and didn’t get called.
