141 Semifinal: #2 seed Beau Bartlett vs. #3 seed Jesse Mendez (Ohio St.)

I'll use JM for Mendez

A repeat of last year's Championship match

Per 1
Beau whist an early shot but can't quite get behind, so nothing. Stoppage with 1:37 left -- it appears JM got an eye poke. JM sort of shoots, blocked. Beau working underhooks, stalemate with 53 sec left. Ear-to-ear with 30 sec left. End

Per 2
Beau takes bottom. Beau works up, then to his feet, and he's out in 7 sec, 1-0. JM in on a leg for a bit but nothing. JM shoots from way out, blocked. Beau working underhooks again, and a stalemate with 25 sec left. End. RT @ 7 sec for JM

Per 3
JM takes bottom. JM works up, and he's out in 7 sec, 1-1. 1 min left, and no shots this period. Beau shoots, blocked. JM shoots off an underhook, Beau with a whizzer, Beau to a split, they scramble, and the buzzer sounds. Ohio State throws a brick. In real time, I don't think JM got a TD, though I thought he got pretty close. Call is confirmed.

SV-1
Beau hasn't been close to a TD since the 1st period. He needs to change that dynamic. Beau shoots, blocked. Under 1 left. JM shoots, nothing. OOB with 34 sec left. Blood time for JM. Stoppage with 16 sec left as JM's headgear comes undone. They need new headgear, which takes some time to get adjusted. Beau shoots, nothing. End

TB-1
JM takes bottom. Optional start by Beau, but he works him OOB with 25 sec left. JM with a roll, to his feet, lifted, and OOB with 16 sec left. Optional start by Beau, JM to his feet, hits a roll as they go OOB with 8 sec left. Optional start by Beau, JM with a roll, and he gets out with 3 sec left, 1-2

TB-2
Beau takes bottom. Beau to his feet, lifted, returned,d to his feet, and OOB with 23 sec left. Beau to his feet, and OOB with 9 sec left. Beau has to get out within 6 sec. Beau with a roll, but JM holds on to the leg. End. JM wins 2-1

Bartlett will wrestle in the Consolations

I really won't miss BB. This lack of offense is maddening.
He is a good but not great wrestler. Boring as hell too

149 Semifinal: #3 seed Shayne Van Ness vs. #2 seed Ridge Lovett (Nebraska)

I'll use RL for Lovett

Time for SVN to beat Lovett

Per 1
RL slips behind, lifts SVN, and gets the TD, 0-3. RL throws in a boot, and they are OOB with 2:30 left. Terrible start for SVN. RL throws in a boot and tilts SVN -- 3 NF makes it 0-6. SVN to his feet, lifted, and returned. SVN throws in a boot. RL tilts him but not into criteria so no NF. Stalemate with 49 sec left. SVN sort of sits out, driven forward by RL, and RL throws in a boot and tilts SVN but no swipes. RL locks a cradle and gets 4 NF before SVN gets to his belly. End. RT @ 2:47 for RL

Per 2
RL takes bottom. RL to his feet, and SVN cuts him, 0-11. SVN reaches, nothing. SVN in on a single to a double for a TD, 3-11, and OOB with 1:25 left. RL up quickly, and cut, 3-12. SVN shoots, they scramble, and RL holds onto a leg so no TD, and finally a TD, 6-12. Stoppage for ??. SVN starts him in neutral so 6-13. SVN shoots, blocked. End RT @ 2:11 for RL

Per 3
SVN takes neutral. SVN shoots a double, blocked. SVN shoots but RL skips away. Stall warning on RL. Stalemate with 1:20 left. SVN shoots, and reshoots, nothing. Stall warning on RL makes it 7-13. SVN in on a shot, and a stalemate with 38 sec left. RT is locked for RL. Stall call on RL makes it 8-13. End. With 2:11 in RT, it's a 8-14 DEC for Ridge Lovett.

Van Ness will wrestle in the Consolation Semis

Just a terrible start of the match for SVN and he couldn't recover. Plus, Lovett is good, and his length gives SVN some troubles.
