Hope we get Wyatt vs Trephan and Gable vs Kerk round two in HWT. This might be easier path for Wyatt to make the finals.

Sadly, I am resigned to Gable winning. We are all just hoping our guy can score 2nd place points lol. 4 points is 4 points. You guys could certainly use those points in the team race, so it'll be interesting if Kerk gets the 4 seed. I believe Kerk gets the 3 seed with Wyatt getting the 2 seed. That would be a great semifinal.

If we are being honest Trephan deserves the 3 over Kerk based on w/l, RPI and conference finish.

However, I believe that Kerk gets it.

That answer very much depends on whether your allegiances lie with the evil empire Penn State or else where. So I’m sure he was legitimately injured or elsewise engaged, and he was absolutely not trying to game seeding.

Do I want a great semi final or 4 points? I will take 4 points for now, lol. With all Iowa, Nebraska and OSU fighting for 2nd spot, any point will be good. Need that 2nd place boost for DT to launch another good portal/offseason.

He didn’t answer my call when I asked that. But I’m guessing it was for this very scenario?

If Reece gets left out of the dance because of RPI, it’s possible that Kerk gets an inkind treatment for the same metric.

I don’t think it happens, but, the facts have been presented. As a seeding official, it would be difficult to pencil 3 next to Kerk. But who says these officials can pick a winning Wrestler?

Trephan has a better record, a better RPI and an equal/similar bonus rate.

I have 95 employees, and about 90 are female. Some of the words my phone changes would probably get me sued. I'm glad I carefully read everything before hitting send. Not that they probably didn't deserve the bad words. I guess my phone reads minds.

I'm just having fun. Regardless of seed, you have to beat the competition anyway.

I am tired of the ducking and MFF for seeding purposes. Like Gallagher of Ohio State forfeiting to MM in the quarters after having won his round of 16 match and wrestling every match on the backside. Even taking PSU out of that scenario, I would still be pissed off. There should be a seeding penalty for forfeiting a not so random match during conference tourneys. Ryan did that with his son 8-10 years ago too.

If you medically can’t wrestle a match in a tournament, you should be disqualified from the rest of the tournament. It may sound harsh but I believe this is the only way to eliminate what happened in Big 10’s. If they want to allow what Ryan did then there needs to be a deduction of a team point(s) or more if that wrestler re-enters. What Ryan did was BS.

Beyond the wrestling itself, it's a moral character issue to me. My wrestling coach in HS tried to teach us to do things the right way. Don't cut corners. Beat the guy in front of you by working your a$$ off the week before. I couldn't conceive of a moment where he would have come to me and said the guy you're facing is too good for you so I'm going to forfeit that match for you. How in the heck do you ever start the conversation with your wrestler, and how as the wrestler do you not punch him for letting you down?

You know, I used to respect Tom Ryan. I feel bad he got in that wreck but that is a chickenshit move and if I was an Ohio State wrestling donor/fan, I’d be trying to retire him.

We really got bit at 133. I know I’m not privy to all the information on what was going on but it looks like in hindsight we should have rolled with Cael Hughes. I know weight management was an issue and possible injury. Reece was a feel good story for a while but he was banged up too. Several people thought he would do well at the tournament. Reece had a tough draw too with all the upsets. I’m not sure the coaches had a good option either way but this will hurt us in the team race. UNI got all their wrestlers in. Hopefully the staff learned a lesson with 133 this season.

Reece could beat any wrestler who is not as strong as him but the wrestlers who are as strong or stronger are going to win against Reece.
It would be nice if Reece could have scored a couple of points for the team but I'm guessing that we are getting the same points whether Reece wrestled or not at 133.
