This is classic Jerry World. He lets a Super Bowl winner and proven entity walk and replaces him with an OC who didn’t call plays. Talk about the definition of stagnation.

I don’t know if PRIME. o_O would have won in Dallas (I doubt it, actually), but the HYPE. TRAIN. o_O would have been unreal. Maybe PRIME. o_O backed off?

It’s a horrible story but it’s related to the Saints only through the owners.
Exactly. Best case, this is another distraction to deal with as a new HC. Worst case, it leads to punitive action from the NFL. That could destabilize the franchise. Who wants that when taking an already bad HC job?

The ESPN article I read did mention the possibility of Goodell taking action against the Saints owner.

Pedersen is a member at our club and has been out a lot lately. I don't talk to him much - he's sort of a trunk slammer sort of guy. He knows Heller though from his Dolphins days.

What's his future? Coordinator somewhere? Sit a few years?

I suspect Doug’s done kind of like Reich. After two bites at the HC apple and the associated money, I can’t imagine these guys are chomping at the bit to work the crazy hours required as a coordinator.

Doug can do anything he wants, including TV or youth coaching.
