I don't blame Wheeler, even though it wasn't his best start. Phillies bats need to pick it up, too many runners left in scoring position, and the bats are too streaky and inconsistent from game to game.
That's right, but giving up two dingers to the same guy is painful. RISP is a huge issue for the Phillies. We win today though

Wheeler didn’t lose the game. This lost the game. Same old story. The lineup needs a jolt. They need to find an outfield bat that isn’t HR or nothing.

  • Team LOB8
  • Team RISP3-13 (Castellanos 1-2, Kepler 0-1, Realmuto 1-1, Turner 0-1, Schwarber 0-2, Sosa 1-2, Marsh 0-2, Bohm 0-1, Stott 0-1)

For all those that poo poo’d the rumor of a possible Buxton trade last week. Buxton went 5/5, hit for the cycle and recorded his 21st HR of the year yesterday. He is batting .286 on the season and .382 with RISP on the season. You don’t think he could help this team right now? This is a team built to win now. If they don’t get help soon, that window closes pretty quickly.

I'll take it too......but the Phils are going to have to pick it up, especially their hitting, otherwise this team is not going deep in the playoffs. Although they have been getting some strong pitching performances which can really carry you in the postseason. So if they can get hot at the plate....maybe.
