I don't have the stats on me and I am too lazy to look them up right now, but it just feels like they always have guys on base and never get them in. The HRs will come as long as you have KS and Harper in the lineup. To get the most out of the others was always the issue.

That said as much as I want to win it all, but at what cost? Unless we dump a player or two and get a superstar or two in return, I honestly don't see them getting much further than they did last year. I am for trades, but don't give away the farm for a team that doesn't seem ready for a long run in the playoffs.
It’s a Catch-22 that Dombrowski is paid big $ to address. Do you give this window your best shot to win now? Do you let it pass with a whimper while knowing there’s no guarantee your top prospects are better than what you have now?

There’s been a lot said about Middleton’s recent comments, but he’s right that trading your top prospects for players won’t guarantee a championship.

But the Phillies have had rotten luck with their prospects for the past decade too. That includes the ones they’ve traded for the most part too.
The other argument to that is that your top prospects may never be MLB caliber players. Guys that looked really good as prospects (Domonic Brown, Scott Kingery, Sixto Sanchez etc.) may never pan out once they get called up. Getting a proven MLB player has a higher floor. On top of that, the majority of their current roster is not homegrown talent. Most was acquired in free agency or trades. So, there shouldn’t be an overwhelming desire to “develop our own talent” as this isn’t really the history of this current roster anyway. If they are going to go for it, I say go all in.

Need to get this Phillies killer at the deadline before he goes to somewhere to where he can destroy us in the playoffs

From today's Philadelphia Inquirer article about the game last night (which Sanchez pitched):

"At present, the Phillies are a threat to win whenever Wheeler and Sánchez pitch, perhaps the best reason for them to be aggressive about improving the bullpen and adding a hitter before the trade deadline at the end of the month."

Harper follows with a huge solo HR, making it 3-0, Fightins, in the bottom of the 1st.

Stott with a solo HR in the bottom of the 4th, makes it 5-0, Fightins. A nice way for Bryson to celebrate the birth his wife delivered at 3:30 am today.

Luzardo issues 4 walks, and then a grand slam, in the top of the 5th. The Fightins could have gotten the 3rd out on a popup behind home plate, but JT couldn't find the ball in the lights, and none of the other fielders helped him out.

6-5, Red Sox, in the top of the 5th

And Luzardo strikes again! Gives up 6 in the 5th including a grand slam. Turns a 5-0 Phillies cruise into a potential loss.
