This is the perfect time to bring up Crawford. The two guys playing center are hitting less than .250 with not much power. Neither of them will make you forget Willie Mays on defense. Crawford does not have anything else to prove in the minor leagues. He has hit at every level, he has increased his OBP, he can run the bases and he can field. Even his slugging percentage is not bad. The only thing he does not give you is power.

I generally agree with a couple of caveats. First, I think you wait until after the deadline just in case you acquire another OF. You don’t want to yo-yo the kid and mess with his development.

Second, as average as CF has been from a production standpoint, it can always get worse if Crawford struggles. Marsh has been better of late and he’s a big piece of the clubhouse dynamic. Maybe you can shift him to LF and still benefit.

You have holes in center and left. Crawford should come up now, and stay up, Even if he hits .240 the kid is more of a threat than the guys they are depending on now. Let him grow in the majors. He has nothing left to prove in the Lehigh Valley. If they are lucky enough to land another good outfielder stick him in left. Marsh is a fourth outfielder pressed into service as a result of a lack of good starters.

What if Crawford hits .180? You can’t have that during a playoff run. I agree he’s the future and that should come ASAP.

Unless they trade him.

Wow what an outfield today: Schwarber, Rojas,
and Casty. Yikes. Rojas and Casty “almost” made plays. 🙄

And Wheeler pitches tomorrow. They have a good chance for a sweep.

Seemed like the game the Fightins were most likely to win in the series. And yet, they fall 4-3. Wheeler had control issues in the 2nd inning (hit 2 batters). And the Fightins' bats were inept against the Yankees bullpen pitchers. The Phillies had several opportunities to tie up the game, but just couldn't get the hit to even things up.

Two men on, 1st and 2nd, no outs…you absolutely have to advance the runners. Killer right there.

This weekend was this team to a “T.” They score 22 runs in games 1 and 2. Then they score 3 in game three and lose by a run.

It’s still a good series win in The Bronx.

I don’t really recall this happening that often this season so not really sure why it is so representative of the team.

I don’t consider it a “good” series -too many times they give this type of game up.

Should sweep when you have your ace going on Sunday !

Effing Wheeler!!!! An ace? Cy Young candidate? No control, with walks and three HBP? He’s gonna get his own guys killed! Another sad start for a fallen arm who will never lead the Phils anywhere. Please, send him and Lizardo and whoever will eat Nola’s contract and bring in some live arms. Heck, even Sanchez gave up an earned run the other night. Best starting staff in baseball? Puh-leze!

(This is TFIC, and I hope it was obvious. Just having fun with the doom and gloom side of the fan base.)

And so the battle lines have been drawn in advance of 2027. If you have Spring Training on your todo list, better do it in 2026. Stormy seas are on the 2027 horizon.

I can see the owners wanting a salary cap, and I can see the players/player's union fighting that tooth and nail. If both sides did in their heels (I expect the players to do so), this could get ugly, and be an extended strike.

💯. This is the tipping point that has been out there for a long time with both sides kicking the can down the road. If it comes home to roost, it could go nuclear. Every other issue is window dressing. You can fiddle with the share%, pension parameters, etc and get agreement sooner than later. The big gorilla is a hard cap which the player union will die on the hill over.
