Most sports have momentum swings during games. PSU had the mojo to start but then lost their mojo to Oregon. Sometimes its pretty hard to swing the mojo back in your favor. I am sure they were trying but just couldn't. Also, I don't think most coaching staffs realize that(in any sport), but they probably needed to do something different to swing the mojo back in their favor instead of sticking with the status quo. Just my 2 cents. They were up big, 18-13 IIRC, then let Oregon back in the match by making errors on something like 6 of the next 8 points. This team is just ridiculously error-prone, it's frustrating to watch. BTN said if you add up serve, receive and hitting errors from the Washington match PSU committed 54 errors. So we are giving away 2 sets and only making teams earn one to win a match. That just can't happen. They managed to win against Oregon but nearly blew set 3 due to errors and again had something like 17 service errors in the match. I don't understand how players at this level are committing so many errors.
Volleyball is momentum driven more than many other sports, so that's a fair point. But PSU is committing errors consistently. It's not just periodic runs being given up, they are making a ton of errors in almost every match. I think the Wisconsin match is the cleanest one I've seen, I'd hoped they turned a corner, but they fell right back into making a ton of errors in the 2 matches on the west coast. Most sports have momentum swings during games. She was on the court for the last couple of points and got a kill on a single attempt.didn't see Ewing last night, she injured?
Yeah might miss the tournament at this point. Just couldn't overcome their best player leaving.Houston, we have a problem.
IU wins at PSU for the 1st time in their history, 3-0.
To be very frank, this team just isn't very good (by PSU standards) aside from Kennedy Martin. Extremely inconsistent, terrible serving errors, bad in serve receive, poor block, unable to terminate on offense (excluding Martin). Hopefully the incoming recruits can turn it around but this season looks like a bust. Ranked since 1988 and made every tournament, both of those streaks could be in jeopardy. I hope Martin stays but wouldn't be at all surprised if she transfers out.Houston, we have a problem.
