The 4th set could be a 30 for 30 special. Just fantastic volleyball. Kind of fit into the category of the team coming from behind running out of gas in the 5th. But Nebraska battled back from a deficit in the 5th. Really good stuff.

A&M winning is good for Pitt--not sure I like that
I still think Texas is the best team but they get their first real test here shortly

Yeah, 37-35 is absurd

Texas A&M - Pitt semifinal --

Many thought that TAMU's upset of Nebraska would be the end of their road, as Pitt has a heck of a team this season. TAMU doesn't seem to have bought in on that philosophy, and they won Set 1 & Set 2, and are up 16-13 in Set 3.

A & M seems quite relaxed and having a lot of fun compared to Pitt.
#37 for A & M pounds the ball.

The 2nd semi, between Kentucky & Wisconsin, was more competitive than the earlier semi, between TAMU & Pitt. Wisconsin won the 1st set rather easily. Sets 2, 3, & 4 were real battles, going Kentucky, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. Thus, they went to a 5th set. Kentucky went out to a big lead, Wisconsin battled back but never got to tie it up, and then Kentucky won it.

S1: 25-12, Wisky
S2: 25-22, Kentucky
S3: 25-21, Wisky
S4: 26-24, Kentucky
S5: 15-13, Kentucky

An interesting night, in that I though going into the semis that Pitt and Wisconsin were the more talented teams, and most likely to win.

TAMU and Kentucky should make for an entertaining final.

B10 WVB recruiting - 5 out of the top 10 and 10 out of the top 20 - competitiveness, dominance (usually) and a tough market to break into. Wow!

The momentum swings in that one were amazing. Kentucky looked confused and lifeless in the first set, then came out as a new team for the rest of the match.
Crazy that the head coaches of the the two teams coached a high school JV team together at a high school in Indiana.

Impressive and probably (?) historically the first time ever!
5th time ever. I found this in an article online, pre-finals:

"If No. 9 overall seed Texas A&M wins on Sunday:

  • It will be the school’s first volleyball national championship, and the Aggies will become the lowest-seeded team to win the title since UCLA also won as the No. 9 overall seed in 2011.
  • A&M would become only the fifth team to beat three No. 1 seeds from the four regions (the most possible) on their path to the championship (Texas in 2023, Nebraska in 2017, Stanford in 2016, and USC in 1981 are the others).
Texas A&M has already become the first team to ever beat three teams in the tournament who were in the prior year’s national semifinals. Thanks to Craig Stanek for the research. You didn’t think I knew all that, did you?"

Hell of a run by the Aggies. Beating three #1 seeds including undefeated Nebraska in Lincoln. Very impressive.
Amazing run...I was worried when they beat Nebraska that teams I didn't want to win would but I was wrong. They killed it.
