No, but they did blow all of their runs needed for today's game.

1 K short as of today or he'd be leading MLB in K's.....again.
Has K'd 3 times in 3 of the last 6 games.
9th error of the year yesterday.....leads all of MLB.
Continues to make poor base running and fielding decisions.
6-43 in May (.140) with 2 EBH.
....but he runs fast and can hit one real far when there is a crescent moon and the bullfrog croaks 3 times on the banks of the Ohio.

It happened earlier this year when we scored 14 in one game and then were shut put in the next 3 games. There seems to be a pattern here.How right you were
I literally woke up this morning pissed off about CES. The guy has been out 4 F'ing weeks because of "back inflammation." WTF is that? And it's also bizarre to me how guys can hit the IL for seemingly minor injuries like that, and then you just kind of forget about them. Is this dude ever going to play baseball again? I mean, it's a sore back. So I guess you never know.
Not even June and another shitshow unfolding. It’s hard to fathom why this organization always sucks. But here we are, again.
I think we thought we could at least count on McClain and Steer, but they are awful
Watching the game right now with White Sox announcers talking about the Reds being feast or famine this year. Mostly famine. The Reds will have a game where they score 10 or more and then the next few games score 1 or no runs. Right now, in the 7th the Reds lead 7-0. They probably need a few more to secure a win.
Think how much better off we are with Nick Martinez than Michael Conforto or Anthony Santander.
These guys have even less heart than they did under Bell. Two absolutely ****** defensive plays to give this game away.
2 bad decisions That had they made the plays, we would have been out of the inning leading 6-2. Pitching is terrible too.

Reds have just lost another lead (8-3) and are now trailing 8-11. Same ole, same ole.
The pitching that we had thought improved has not as much. Starters yes, but relievers? No.
Add in the sometimes-hapless defense (poor decision making plus inept play) and we have the same ole, same ole as has been for many years now.
Anyone else getting that sinking feeling again? Reds leading 6-0 going into the bottom of the 7th when... the Royals score 3. Here we go again.

I truly believe all the components are there, but they can't seem to catch a break. The injuries are absolutely absurd. How in TF does CES miss 2 F'ing months with a sore back? And Noelvi Mart, who was playing great, is going to miss 2 months with a strained oblique. I should be more pissed off than I am, but at least I know this franchise has talent at every level, and there is hope. Now, and in the future.

Outside of McClain being atrocious at the plate, the Reds are actually playing decent baseball individually. Starting staff has outperformed high expectations. Trevino, Hays and Lux have proven to be excellent additions. Elly is still Elly. Steer is coming around, but playing hurt early skewed his stats. Despite the reputation around here, the bullpen is middle of the pack in the MLB statistically. Injury bug has definitely bitten, but there are enough good parts that they should be winning more games. IDK if it's bad luck, Francona or what.
Hype was a driving factor pre-season for expectations for these Reds. As stated above, Elly is still Elly, headed for the strikeout title again this year and errors are pretty high. Injuries? Yeah, but every team has injuries. Hype drove what seems to be an influx of fans at GABP. I see that waning after the All-Star game if we are still at or below .500. I will still watch games if they slide to the bottom of the division because there is nothing else going until UK BB (football not going anywhere again unless the Bengals start strong).
Elly also on pace for 32 HRs, 115 RBIs and 118 runs scored. That seems OK to me
TJ Friedl has quietly been outstanding this year. Hitting 300/380, stealing some bags, drawing walks, playing solid D. He hits lefties, bunts to get on base, and just plays like the scrappy undersized vet he is. I just love watching this guy play when he’s on.
He's their best and most consistent overall player this year by a wide margin, and he uses the space between his ears in his approach....a rarity on this team.
