Does Bethpage Black favor the USA? A really long course.

I’m interested to see how Bryson does.

I got the option to purchase tix but turned it down. Price is pretty insane, and I’m not the biggest Ryder Cup fan (I know that I’m in the minority there). My dad and my nephew are going Saturday, and I’ll be interested in hearing about the fan experience. I’ve been to the US Open at Bethpage Black and it’s a neat venue.

Why is Morikowa in the first session? He's been terrible this year. Any player that's gone through 5 caddies is a red flag. They (Morikawa-English) will probably get boat raced by Rory and Fleetwood. Cam Young should be out there (and Keegan but that's another story).

US sports in general are in a downward spiral. The best NBA players are foreigners. The best major league baseball players are from Japan or Latin America. The best golfers in the world are from Europe. US soccer sucks. US tennis sucks. US sports are in a sorry state.
I guess that's why Amerians have won 12 of the last 14 majors. Keegan should be playing, certainly over Morikowa. It's not easy for Scottie when his partner looks like a 10 handicap. JT has been brutal too.

Plenty of European fans in attendance. It's overall pro US, but not overwhelming. Of course the Euro fans have much more to cheer for at this point.

I thought Patrick Reed "Captain America" played well enough this summer to warrant being a captain's pick. You have to have someone like Reed who thrives at these events.

Not this year, but I was disappointed that Lucas Glover wasn't chosen 2 years ago. He was playing better than anyone in the world and they chose their pals instead.

Also worth noting the US players are being paid this year while the European players refused to accept being paid. That really tells you all you need to know.

Who on team USA deserves better than a C? Awful showing and embarrassing.

And the American players are donating their pay to charities. That really tells you all you need to know

It's very frustrating to watch to be honest. The US stinks at this and so far this time is no different. Maybe the US players need to be offered more money to win. Maybe that would light a fire under their collective behinds since that seems to be all that drives them.

More money won't do a damn thing for the USA's poor putting woes.

They are corporations onto themselves - not team players. No surprise they generally don’t play as well as a team - the EU guys almost always put aside their self-absorbed personalities needed for the typical tour grind in exchange for the common good.

From watching all the golf shows, most of the US guys appear to be - as the Brits might say - Bellends.

It amazes me to see the over analysis over small sample sizes. 4 years ago, the US plays well for 3 days and proves how dominant US golf is. Today, they play poorly (and several Euros play really well) and it suddenly proves that the US players are selfish and entitled.

In a 30 year sample size, Europe is 10-4 - largely dominating with lineups that, on paper, often should be hammered. In many of those comps, the US team was riven by frat boy cliques or other favoritism. It’s not a new thing.

We are starting to see that picking Keegan as captain was not a good decision. He should have been on the team 2 years ago and 100% should be playing this weekend. Is he serious with with matches tomorrow morning? This could be over by the end of Saturday.

Saturday morning and the methodical beat down by the Europeans continues.
