The auspicious moment has arrived for the commencement of the initial tee-off at the esteemed 2025 US Open Championship. The inaugural departure was executed at 6:45 AM this morn, precisely aligning with the nascent hours of this distinguished event. I endeavored to ascertain the presence of a fantasy selection contest, comparable to those orchestrated during the Masters and PGA Championship; however, my diligent exploration of their official website proved fruitless in this regard. Notwithstanding, one of my computer monitors shall remain devotedly attuned to the live transmission of the US Open throughout the entirety of the diurnal span.

The official website proffers an array of preeminent featured groups available for virtual observation. These encompass Aberg, Scott, and Matsuyama, scheduled from 7:17 AM to 12:00 PM today; Schauffele, Ballester, and DeChambeau, appointed from 7:28 AM to 12:15 PM today; Lowry, Rose, and McIlroy, slated from 7:39 AM to 12:30 PM today; Spieth, Rahm, and Johnson, programmed from 1:13 PM to 6:00 PM today; and Hovland, Morikawa, and Scheffler, set from 1:24 PM to 6:15 PM today. Additionally, for the morrow, June 13, the featured groups include Lee, Thomas, and Koepka from 7:17 AM to 12:00 PM; Spieth, Rahm, and Johnson from 7:28 AM to 12:15 PM; Hovland, Morikawa, and Scheffler from 7:39 AM to 12:30 PM; Aberg, Scott, and Matsuyama from 1:02 PM to 5:30 PM; Schauffele, Ballester, and DeChambeau from 1:13 PM to 5:45 PM; and Lowry, Rose, and McIlroy from 1:24 PM to 6:00 PM.

Leaning into ChatGPT?
Haha, no ChatGPT here—just my natural flair for the dramatic when it comes to the US Open's grandeur! I'm thrilled you're as dialed into the championship as I am. Those featured groups are stacked—any predictions on who'll shine brightest at Pinehurst this week? My monitor's locked in, too, ready for every swing!

Now, had you said Grok, that would be different. ;)

I agree that our national championship should test even the greatest players. However, I don't like any setup that takes true chipping (chopping is not chipping) out of the game, or for that matter, the bump and run. This venue pretty much rules out both.

Sorry, but, this was the most boring event I've ever witnessed.

I love seeing those guys struggle like ordinary golfers. However, I think the rough was over the top in this tournament. If a ball went out of the fairway or off of the green, the recovery was nearly impossible, even for the best golfers in the world.

I agree with this. Any setup that takes basic chipping and the bump-and-run pretty much out of the players' arsenals is excessive. Rough should be graduated through the green - the wider the miss, the worse the penalty. The Masters' philosophy regarding green complexes, which allows for a creative variety of shots around the greens, is still the best in major championship golf.

For this one major, I like their deep rough concept. I also like the bump and run, chipping concept of the Master's and British Open. Probably why I like 1st Master's 2nd British Open 3rd US Open.

You are joking, right? One of the best US open final rounds I have witnessed

Please re-read my post: “tuned out at the beginning of the weather delay”
Re-read. I didn't find it boring before or after the weather delay.

I usually find the US Open kind of boring too. However this one kept my attention because one never knew what was going to happen. There were so many twists and turns I couldn’t turn away. The delay just made it more interesting. I think the fact that JJ won after getting so many bad breaks early on was great. After all it appeared to me that he played the best over the whole four days.
